Hey BHW, the rules on YouTube are constantly changing. What are people currently using—niche content, faceless channels, or shorts—to reach monetisation more quickly? This year, let's discuss what is and is not working.

faceless channels still work so long as you add value to your content (voice over, context, etc..)

You cant just produce AI videos without adding any value and monetize your channel.

Lifestyle Stories work well on YT. You can get some help from AI but obviously make sure to add some human touch.

Shorts seems to be surest way to again quick engagement will long form contents will.help with getting more subscribers

Faceless channels and niche content are still strong for steady growth, but shorts can give fast views and traction—though monetisation takes a bit longer unless you keep consistency.

Faceless channels have the benefit that they can be automated. That is why many BHW members love them.

Right now, faceless channels and Shorts are helping people reach monetization faster, especially when they focus on trending or niche topics with consistent uploads.

Short form videos and niche channels are helping creators grow quickly, while faceless channels still succeed with consistent posting and good SEO

In 2025, shorts and faceless niche channels still work best for fast monetization. Focus on high retention, trending topics, and consistent uploads but mix in some long-form content for stable watch hours and ad revenue.

Yes, the aim to make.money with automated AI videos is useless. Youtube already made it clear that they will not allow to monetize such videos.

Right now faceless channels using trending topics and high quality shorts are performing best. Consistency strong storytelling and audience retention are key to faster monetization in 2025.

the videos need a strong narrative and viewers need to understand that in the beginning 30 seconds, your faceless channels will blow up if you can keep your retention to 40-60% and if you have returning viewers.

Some of the niches that are doing really good this year is Ai related content like how to make money using ai, how to create videos using ai etc, these are high rpm content too.

Oh man, YouTube in 2025 is like a rollercoaster - rules keep changing, so what worked last year might flop now. Some people are riding the Shorts wave, others are doing niche channels, and some go completely faceless… Let’s break down what’s actually working right now.

What’s actually working

1. Shorts + long videos = dream combo
Shorts are like magnets for new subscribers -super fast growth. But you usually can’t rely on them alone for serious monetization. What many creators do now: post a few Shorts per week to grab attention, then one longer video (10–20 min) to boost watch time and actually make ad revenue.

2. Niche channels = loyal fans, less competition
Generic channels like “top 10” or “viral clips” are everywhere. Picking a micro-niche - think “budget PC setups for students” or “easy at-home workouts” - makes people more likely to subscribe, binge-watch, and stick around.

3. Faceless channels can work, but only if you do it well
You can run a channel without showing your face - voiceovers, animations, stock footage, whatever. But don’t just mash things together and hope for the best. People want content that teaches, entertains, or solves a problem. Good storytelling and editing really matter here.

4. Don’t just rely on ads
Ad revenue is unpredictable. Most successful creators now combine: sponsorships, merch, affiliate links, channel memberships. Shorts get the audience in, but longer videos and community interaction keep the cash flowing.

5. Originality is key
YouTube’s cracking down on low-effort or repetitive content. If you’re just reposting stuff or spitting out AI-generated videos without value, it’s risky. Focus on content that genuinely gives people something they can’t get elsewhere.

My friendly take

If I had to give a simple formula for 2025:

  • Pick a niche you either know or can learn well.
  • Post Shorts to grow fast, but longer videos for stability and monetization.
  • Faceless is fine, but make it high-quality and original.
  • Diversify your income: ads + sponsors + merch + memberships.
  • Keep an eye on YouTube rules - low-effort content is getting flagged harder than ever.

Honestly, if you do this consistently, you’re putting yourself in the best position to actually grow and make money - without burning out.

Creators are finding the fastest path to monetisation through faceless educational channels that combine trending short clips with consistent viewer engagement and clear thematic focus

Avoid shorts, they pay very less.
