Why does everyone keep recommending a VPS?

I tried out a VPS years ago & went thru so much stress. After 3 months I finally left.

The owner lied & said it was managed & it wasn't, & I couldn't afford $100 per month to manage my account LOL.

It turns out (poor communication), you had to tell HIM what to do if there were problems as IF I know ANYTHING about how to run a server LOL SMH

I got a million emails from CPanel I'd never seen in my life, & we had to shut those off so I wouldn't get them all which means if there was something important in there, it would be missed.

Even my website coder who's only ever managed reseller, didn't know what to do with them.

In the end it had much less memory then when I was on with shared/reseller, & my site kept going down. I don't get a lot of traffic, but I have several sites & one has a lot of images & posts, although back then I didn't even have that site, so that wasn't the issue.

I just don't get it, does everyone here know how to run their own VPS so if it goes down or there's problems they know how to fix it?

For cloud you must have your own technical support team. In VPS company's technical will sort out issues for you. In your case go with the trusted reputed ones rather than local providers.

Actually a cloud and VPS are both very same, a cloud is where all the hardware resources are put into a pool using cloud technology and script, and then you get a VPS made on it, where some companies are still using old virtualization of a single hardware server and making VPS on it, and a cloud will be more reliable and good, but again depends upon the network and hardware infrastructure behind the cloud or VPS, and if a company dosent oversell the resources.

It's just shocking that people have no idea most people can't manage a hoster by themselves, especially if they've been on shared for years. SMH

I looked into your hoster & unfortunately you jump from 10 to 30 domains & that package is a smidgen over my budget, plus it's only 2 cores.

I had some weird comments (although negative) about them years ago so I decided to give them another chance LOL.

They required I jump through tons of HOOPS to get on a call when all I wanted to do was email to ask my questions. I'm not going to be a secretary & take hours of notes while they talk, plus I couldn't get past their calendley. So I just said forget it. sigh

I think that management services can be different from company to company. You might have bad luck when signing up for the management services with the company that provides management services that won't work for you.
I think you can always ask a company about their management service and what they include in it.

I use tier for my cpanel hosting. And its reasable priced for a good quality cpanel server with support. I don't get hundreds of cpanel emails, are you sure you aren't talking about the periodic ssl certificate reautheorisations? You shouldn't get any more regualr emails than that really.
