Hi Folks, long-time lurker here.
I've been experimenting with Stable Diffusion and AI influencers since 2023. After several attempts, I’ve finally managed to grow one of my influencers on Instagram and found a niche that goes viral fairly easily (4.5M reach and 713K profile visits per month).
My current monetization method is driving traffic from Instagram to Fanvue via a Linktree link in my IG bio, which gets around 40k–50k clicks per month. I also run a Telegram channel where I occasionally drop paywalled content.
The content is hyperrealistic, and based on my experience in this space I’m confident the pictures I generate are among the top quality ones. But when it comes to monetization and funnel optimization, I’m a complete newbie.
Out of the 40k–50k monthly clicks, around 28k go to Fanvue and 20k to Telegram.
On Fanvue, I’m currently averaging about 100 new subscribers in the past 30 days, with sub prices ranging from $5–$9.99 (normal price is $9.99, but I run promotions). That’s about $1,300 gross for the last 30 days. I had the “follow for free” option enabled and gained ~500 free followers, but I rarely post free or PPV content and I’m not interested in chatting myself. I recently disabled the free follow option, so now the page is fully paywalled.
That said, how is it possible that with this traffic my Fanvue subscription conversion rate sits so low (0.3%–0.5%)? Is this mainly due to Fanvue’s weaker branding, or am I doing something fundamentally wrong? The traffic is clearly there, but I can’t get people to convert.
Additionally, with this amount of IG traffic, would there be potential in running some affiliate offers directly (through IG/link-in-bio), or should I focus only on improving Fanvue conversions?
