Peer to Peer Crypto trading. Thoughts? Insights? Stories?

Alot of people do that but make sure the person sending any bank payment to you, that his bank name and the p2p verified name is the same. Also request for a detailed payment screenshot that carries your name and his own name and amount. With this in place, you won't have any issues l.
Let me shock you a bit. Fraudsters buy bank identities of untraceable bums, use it to create a bank account and p2p profile, move in tainted monies into the accounts and use that to buy crypto via p2p. Everything will pass until the monies are investigated and transfers traced, then your bank account gets frozen - and it could be weeks after the transaction.

Exactly but that doesn't mean you were part of the fraud, bank freezing your bank account doesn't mean you have lost your money and bank account. Just gather every information and details of the transaction and send them to your bank and the law Court, your account will be unfreeze.
It has happened to me many times and i even have one case currently that I have sent all details to my bank and court.
The thing is that you can't run away from this things as far P2P is concerned.
Also to avoid this kind of fraud, make sure you don't exchange high or big amount in your trade, reduce the amount you exchange per transaction and per person because fraudsters usually go for higher exchange amount per transaction.

It must be costly going through that hassle each time it occurs, not to talk of the lost time and unavailability of your bank account while it is being resolved, all for the tiny profits of the recommended smaller trade sizes. I don't know if it's just me but there has to be better ways to earn in my opinion.

Been in P2P for years, it's s a gem for dodging fees and fiat hassles. Frauds are rare on verified platforms e.g binance but do avoid unverified ones e.g. paxful as moderators also engage in the games.

Yes but before you start exchanging on P2P as a seller with bank transfer option, you need to know this:
1st: is to always check the buyer's profile and analyse it. All p2p has feedbacks of every transaction, so analysing a buyer profile will be easy for you.
2ndly: is to accept payment from some
certain banks. Choose some banks that is very strict to open there bank's account. In so many countries, online banks are dominating and it is easy for fraudsters to open account with them and use it for there operations.
3rdly: is minimising the amount you accept per buyer and per transaction. Fraudsters always go for higher amounts.
I have been doing P2P for more than 6 years and I have encounter so many of them and when I see one, I know immediately. But always stay safe because some of them are super smart and has everything in place to trick you.

Saying paxful moderators engage in scam is wrong, I have used paxful for many years and they are very strict when it comes to scam and they always put out updates to minimise scam.
Paxful works exclusively with evidence provided by the buyer and the seller.
Paxful moderators doesn't side with any party whether you are the seller or the buyer. If maybe you have encounter or experience a judgement or dispute outcome before with paxful moderator, go and check that trade and you will see that you didn't provide enough evidence and I can 100% assure you that you didn't provide enough evidence. So check and make some research before putting up a thing like this.

Hmm...with your experience , it must be profitable then. Can you give hints of how profitable? I am sure the info will help the Op.

My caution stems from real experiences I've encountered. The verifiable evidence they require a good example; gift cards or reversible payments complicate things. I once provided bank apps/videos yet mods sided against a fraudster and not once. No platform's perfect; that's why I stick to verified offers on Binance P2P for lower drama

See where people makes mistake on paxful giftcards trade is not recording a video proof showing that the giftcard is valid before the trade and also before you open a trade with a seller, make sure you are recording a video proof showing that the card is valid and when the video is still on, position your computer or phone showing the card is valid and giving the card to the seller. When recording try to be showing the time I.e time when you are checking that the card is valid and time you sent the giftcard to the seller, and keep refreshing the giftcard checking and you will see that your video will capture that you are refreshing the giftcard valid and when the seller redeem the card. With this proof, the seller who is a scammer will not win you in dispute.
Giftcard scammers win because they provided a video showing that the card is used when you give it to them. I will still explain how they do that.

Paxful is profitable because you can buy at cheaper rate and still increase the rate and sell.
For example, you can buy at 99% buying rate and increase the rate to 96% and sell. I.e you buy 100$ for $99 and sell the $99 for $96 and that will make you 3$.
I hope you understand my explanation.

Ive been dipping my feet into Peer to Peer crypto trading I have a verified account on one of the exchanges but lifes gotten in the way and I havent really done anything yet. Anyone around here that does it? if so do you have any input?
p2p is harsh if you are from the 3rd world country , numerous scams and other buyer sellers scam are common .

profit margin is not too high as well . better stay put .

Here's my two cents, based on my experience with the Cryptomus P2P platform. You made the right call choosing an exchange with KYC. It helps you avoid scams because the crypto is held in escrow by the platform until the trade is complete. This also makes it easier to resolve any disputes with fiat transfers.

However, the fiat transfer is the weak link here. In some countries, these transactions can be flagged for additional review. You might also run into issues with users forgetting about transfer limits on their e-wallets. And, of course, exchange rate volatility can eat up your profits or even put you in the red if a trade drags on.

That's why it's better to choose a platform with no fees, like Cryptomus where it's zero. Still, the profit from these trades is pretty small. You'd likely be better off looking into crypto arbitrage.
