I just started a new Google Ads account and I’m trying to figure out the safest way to increase bids without triggering account flags. Any strategies or rules you follow for fresh accounts?

Increase by small increments, like 10–20% every few days.

Don’t max out your budget immediately, let the account warm up.

Sudden large changes trigger reviews, avoid doing that.

For a fresh Google Ads account, keep bid changes gradual:
  • Start with lower, steady bids to build history.
  • Increase bids in small steps (10–15%) (Can do 20% as well) every few days instead of big jumps.
  • Focus on Quality Score + CTR improvements first, not just bid hikes.
  • Avoid sudden budget spikes, scale slowly to look natural.

use rule of thumb: small, consistent optimizations > aggressive changes.

Start with manual CPC bidding rather than automated bidding while the account is new, avoid changing both bids and budgets at the same time

Increase slowly, stick to 10–20% increments, and avoid big daily budget spikes in new accounts.
