Hi BHW, I’m new to SEO and decided to start my first internet marketing journey. My goal is to learn SEO step by step and apply it to grow a site while sharing updates here. I don’t have much experience yet, but I want to test different methods, track progress, and hopefully start ranking and earning. Any tips, tools, or guidance from experienced members would mean a lot.

study a lot, try and test many different things that are relatively easy and low cost before putting tons of energy into one project, and keep yourself organized. Make use of as many online free tools as you can.

It’s already nice that you’re willing to test things out at your own pace and see what works.
You won’t get tired out easily that way if some things don’t work out as you thought they would or within the timeframe you expected :)

I’m no expert but here’s some simple advice you shouldn’t ignore as it’s crucial for your long term efforts

- Understand the keywords related to the niche you’re going into so you can see what people are actually searching for.

- On-page SEO is another cheap and easy step that most people ignore. Try to optimize your site titles, URLs, headers, meta tags, and all that.

- Make sure your site speed is good... You can use plugins for that if you're running on WP

- Well, don’t ignore link building but at the beginning just focus on free links like directories, Web 2.0, and similar sources.

- Use free tools like Google Search Console and Google Analytics... they will be very helpful.

Lastly, SEO is a long-term game or no game at all : D
Don’t get too worked up. Remember, you’re trying things out to see what works, so give it some time :)

That’s really solid advice, thanks for breaking it down so simply

I gotta remind myself SEO’s more of a long-term thing, I keep catching myself wanting fast results lol. The on-page SEO part is something I’ve honestly kinda ignored, so I’ll prob need to go back and fix the basics before I even think about the harder stuff.

And yeah, pacing myself makes sense… no point in burning out right at the start. I’ll just keep testing things out and see what actually works over time. Appreciate the encouragement!

Yeah that makes a lot of sense. I def need to keep myself organized, otherwise I just end up bouncing around and forgetting what I even tested lol. Trying out small, low-cost stuff first feels way less overwhelming too. And true, there’s so many free tools out there. I prob haven’t even scratched the surface on what’s available. Gonna start there before throwing too much energy into one thing.

Use free tools like Google Search Console, Analytics, and Keyword Planner, and learn from Moz/Google beginner guides.
Yea i use some free tools too like GSC, Analytics and Keyword Planner. Moz and Google beginner guides r good also. I think GSC is more effective to access everyday coz it shows what pages r ranking and errors u need to fix.

My tip would be to focus on learning the basics first — keyword research, on-page SEO, and creating quality content.

Cool beginnings — cheers to your first wins.
