I’m exploring Quora, Reddit, and Pinterest for traffic.

Google updates are killing small blogs, so curious – has anyone here built a money site without depending on Google?

There's bing for small worldwide traffic, You could target yahoo for japan sites, yandex for russian sites etc. Korea also has competition in search but don't remember the name right now

Not much. And I think the share of other search engines is also going to drop.

Start with the social media you use the most personally and same goes for other kind of sites like chatbots/forums etc. You'll be most familiar with those network and have an easier time getting traffic from those platforms.

In general, wean yourself off focusing on ranking and getting/staying indexed, and concentrate more on TARV and reverse outreach. TARV means relying more on associating with sites that give your site value and credibility based on their providing huge traffic, authority, reputation and visibility.

Those no-follow domains or communities with sky high metrics on several fronts (DA, DR, AS, TF), and over 100k traffic sessions per month, are what you can concentrate on. Write deeeeply researched content that's so good, that the top publications reach out to backlink to you on their own.

Never researched for latam but i think they more or less use the same search as other western countries so bing/ddg are the other alternatives ig.

Its the exact opposite thats gonna happen i think. Google shitty search results are getting so bad most of users are going to alternates. I am getting most of my traffic from Bing,Yahoo,Yandex,ecosia,brave etc



and the traffic quality is also good

Medium and LinkedIn articles have become my backup search engine, they actually push a lot of relevant visitor

If you plan to.monetise with as network like adsense finally, they might ban you if most traffic is from social media.

It does not matter as if you have a good amount of traffic from social and the audience is engaging then you can just use better networks then adsense like ezoic, mediavine journey etc. No need to stick with adsense.

quora and reddit are banning accounts left and right. You can't even finish saying "For more info chec..." anymore that you're already banned!

For Pinterest I would love to get back into, as it's been one of my most rewarding (in terms of traffic) sources in the past when I was deeply focused on it.

But I've heard that a lot has changed with it lately (including their favoritism for AI and video pins over standard, image pins), and I'm not interested in doing videos, just screw that!

But anyway, do you have any tips on how to make money (or at least get good traffic consistently) with Pinterest? I'd love to read your recommendations...

Reddit and Quora definitely aren’t as forgiving as they used to be, especially if you even look like you’re dropping links for promotion. These days, it’s less about linking and more about being genuinely active in conversations for a while before sharing anything at all. It’s a grind, but I’ve seen people still pull traffic if they treat those platforms more like community building rather than traffic sources.

As for Pinterest, you’re right it has shifted a lot. They’ve been pushing video and AI stuff, but the foundation of Pinterest hasn’t really changed, it’s still a visual search engine where people actively go with buying intent or at least research intent. That means standard image pins can still work if you’re consistent and strategic. What really matters is keyword optimization, making sure your pin titles, descriptions, and even the text on the images line up with what people are searching for. That hasn’t gone away, even if the algorithm is favoring newer formats too.

This is so true. And only few can maintain these kind of traffic. Recently quora has become wild. No links are allowed in any format.

Problem with these platforms is that if you mention same website in replies, they will ban your accounts. All traffic will die in some time.

Out of 4 accounts, Quora has banned 3 for my old posts which now seem to be offensive to them.

Reddit has banned my 2 old accounts in the past, and can't get going on the platform.

Everyone is just screwing up, no traffic loophole as much now.
