• Change the email password and recovery email.
• Remove any hidden apps linked to the Hotmail account via this link: https://account.live.com/consent/manage?fn=email

For extra protection:

• Go to Security → Two-step verification.
• Scroll down to Recovery Code → Generate a new code and save it, to prevent anyone who may have previously obtained the old code from accessing your email.
