Clicking username in a thread does not open options

I'm on desktop, and when you have a look at whats new, you can click on user profiles (it shows link in bottom corner) but nothing happens. and I don't get the hover info now either. This just happened today when I looked I think.

Hmm, weird its working again now, after I thought, i'll test it once more. lol typical!

Ok so I have a little more information on what's going on. We found this developer blog from 2 days ago announcing the browser developer program. There's 2 points we've taken from this:

1.) if you're using a fringe browser, then that could be why you're facing more security challenges right now.
2.) they talk a lot about human traffic, so potentially you may be getting challenged if you landed on an IP with a bad reputation.

As I said yesterday, it's a Cloudflare issue. If I find out anything else, I'll post it here. And, I'll continue to keep this open for awhile longer in case anyone else wants to comment.

For me: I am unable to get the cloudflare challenge to pop up, yet when I try on mullvad browser it works fine and I get greeted with the challenge.

What I can't do: Click on name, profile pic, hover info, the info box never shows up.

What I can do: Open profile in new tab as you mentioned but the Cloudflare challenge does not show up there.

I just logged out and closed all bhw tabs and then logged back in, I was not greeted with the cloudflare challenge but it is working now for me normally after doing that.

I encountered this problem once a couple of days ago. What resolved it for me was opening the profile URL in a new tab instead of clicking to reveal the profile card, then completing the Cloudflare challenge page. I assumed it was a one-off issue, so I didn’t look into it further.

There is one more related issue which is present for me yet. Whenever I click on my own username while logged in, the verification page is loaded. It is a bug for sure because if I just open any other tab or page on BHW, I am not asked for any verification.

I'm sorry, but a Cloudflare security challenge is not a bug when it does not impact the site's functionality.

I won't go into the details of what we do for obvious reasons, but we are continually tuning our Cloudflare rules based upon user behaviour we see, and it will most likely be caused by a combination of this and Cloudflare itself.
