Favorite 90's Movie?

But, each to their own.
exactly! Hopefully we can apply this principle to everyone as long as nobody bothers anybody. I think that's fair for a healthy society :)

I never said otherwise.
indeed! But I felt pressure being put on me (it's the 2nd time this month that you're picking on me) so I reacted to it. I apologize if this felt offensive.

I'm just saying that show was a racist piece of shit
this statement forces me into a discussion that will jeopardize my BHW account, so I'm forced to stay out of it...

that presented harmful stereotypes of non-white people
harmful in what way?? It didn't offend me or my race / nation in in any way. Also, Italians, Germans, and Spaniards are all white people, so the show mocked the whites too, so this doesn't make it racist in my opinion. Just because it bothered you doesn't mean that we all should be bothered by the same things, otherwise - by the same logic - you should sympathize with the opinions of every human being on the planet, and that's not possible.

And also, I have seen people from the nations mocked in that show that have had a good giggle at those jokes, so not everyone gets offended by this, which is cool. Less stress and more laughs = better life :)

Last but not least, there have been full-fledged blockbuster movies that have been more harmful to other nations or races than MYL. Does this mean that we should hate those movies too? I mean, probably yes in a normal society, but we're not living in normal times, so I think that entertainment is the least of our worries in these harsh times...

that are still present in this country and continue to be damaging to those communities.
I presume that you mean England since I can see on your profile that you're from Stockport. If that's the case, yeah, you're having big problems with certain demographics and I genuinely feel for you. Too many innocent people are getting harmed these days, and it's not right :(

But we can't discuss this without getting into politics (as it's forbidden on the forum), so I'll let it go. I only wish and pray that things will get sorted out for you, I truly and genuinely want the entire planet to live in peace, harmony, and humane conditions...

Anyway, I do like that show and I think that more people should watch it, hence why I've put it on my list. If you think that the show is harmful to the community simply delete it from my post as I can't edit it anymore! And hopefully I remember not to mention it again next time...

Cheers!

I'm not picking on you. You haven't done anything against the rules. I just feel obliged to point out what kind of show Mind Your Language was.

That's not necessary. People can make their own minds up. I'm sure somebody has uploaded stuff from it on YouTube if they want to see what we're talking about.

Shawshanks Redemption
Every time I watch it again I see something different than the last time.
That's awesome. Yeah, there are tons of ins and outs in that movie. It came out about year before or right around the time Forrest Gump did, and it never got the recognition it deserved because Forrest Gump outshined it at the Oscars. I definitely like both movies though.

Not as famous, but I loved the comedy stuff too. Major Payne was hilarious, and Yankee Zulu is such an underrated gem from the 90s.

can't pick one, but some - in no particular order: goodfellas, matrix, fight club, hackers, reservoir dogs, ghost in the shell, pulp fiction, casino, heat, lost highway, dark city, terminator 2, trainspotting, fear and loathing in las vegas, the big lebowski, mallrats, the meaning of life.. and so many more
YES! I was hoping someone would bring up Jay & Silent Bob :)

That is so cool, Shawshank keeps coming up for a lot of us :)
It’s a marvelous movie, certainly not the only great one from 1994. That year was truly one of the best in cinema history: Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction, The Lion King, Léon: The Professional, and the list goes on. But Shawshank has something quite special... what a beautiful piece of art!

lock stock and two smoking barrels

Heat and many more

@DediRock I'm pretty sure I've told you to use multi-quote before.
You def did, which did I goof on? Sorry about that.

Exactly, another one that comes to mind, kind of same old timey vibe with great story line is Green Mile. Really liked that one.
