Are you still using Web 2.0s in your off-page strategy?

Noticed a lot of people quietly bringing back Web 2.0s for tier 2s or just some brand presence.

I still use them occasionally, especially for early-stage sites where budgets are tight or just to maintain brand mentions across platforms. Obviously, they’re not as powerful as they once were, but still have some value when used smartly.

Anyone else still building these or have they gone out of your toolkit completely?

Yeah, Web 2.0s aren’t as strong as before, but they still work well for diversity and tiered link building.

I like using them to anchor brand mentions and support stronger links. They’re not a main strategy, but still worth keeping in the toolkit.

Yeah, I still keep Web 2.0s in the mix, mainly for tier 2s like you said, or sometimes just to diversify anchors and keep things looking natural. They're definitely not what they used to be, but if you're doing solid on-page and mixing your links smartly, they can still pull some weight

They’re not the powerhouse they used to be, but Web 2.0s still have a place if you use them right. Good for cheap tier 2 links, brand mentions, and diversifying anchors. I wouldn’t lean on them for ranking power, but as part of a mixed profile they still work

Yes, I still use Web 2.0s, but only as part of the foundation layer. They don’t push rankings in competitive niches by themselves, but they help with:
  • Diversifying the link profile (looks natural when mixed with stronger links)
  • Creating safe tier-2 links to power up guest posts/PBNs
  • Giving Google more entry points to crawl and index money pages
I don’t rely on them for direct ranking movement — the heavy lifting still comes from authority links (PBNs, guest posts, niche edits). But I like to keep a small batch of Web 2.0s in almost every project for balance and indexing support.

They are useful for link diversification.
You should always take 2.0 into account in your SEO strategy.

Thanks for replying my questions and I agree with you guys :)

Web 2.0s definitely don’t carry the same weight they once did, but they still have their role if used strategically. I usually look at them as supportive assets rather than primary ranking drivers. When mixed with stronger links like PBNs, guest posts, or niche edits, they help balance the link profile and make everything look more natural.

At the end of the day, it’s all about how you integrate them into the bigger SEO strategy. Alone they won’t move the needle much, but when combined smartly, they still add value.

I still use Web 2.0s sometimes for brand presence and tier 2 links, but they’re more of a support tactic than a main strategy now.

Yeah, Web 2.0s aren’t the powerhouse they used to be, but they’re not totally dead either.

I still keep a light stack for brand mentions, tier 2 indexing, and entity reinforcement more for trust/branding than raw ranking power.
