how to avoid a ban in Reddit?

hey, a few months ago I got banned on the r/seo subbreddit for posting links - I take it, it was dumb, so I created a new account using another IP, commented on the same sub but still got banned a few days after..

I'd like to know what's the criteria they have for ban evasion, because it was a separate email address with another IP, how did they catch me? I seen they track hardware components like your monitor, screen size, etc. how true is this wtf? If I bought a new pc will I be able to keep posting?

Also, I seen some sites that sells aged Reddit accounts with high karma.. If I bought one of them I'll still get instantly banned, right?

They likely track cookies, local storage, and even browser canvas data. Use a good anti-detect browser if you’re serious about staying clean.

If you posted the same link again from the new account then it's likely that subreddit does not allow links to be posted at all. It's better to just drop the name of whatever site you're trying to share.

Also take a break before posting from the new account

You should never post link unless you account is aged and with good karma point
use just one link on your profile and/or sticked post, then just partecipate in varios communities without being spammy

Reddit uses more than just email and IP to identify users. It can detect account evasions through browser fingerprinting, which gathers information on your device like operating system, browser type, screen size, and more. A new PC may not necessarily guarantee anonymity. Regarding aged Reddit accounts, they don't promise immunity from bans if behavior violating guidelines is repeated.

IP alone isn’t the only fingerprint, browser cookies, user agent, screen resolution, fonts, hardware IDs (via WebGL), and even behavior patterns can link accounts. It’s possible they flagged your new acc even with a new IP.

Buying aged accs won’t always help either if you’re still using the same environment. Use an antidetect browser like GoLogin or Multilogin, clean cookies/local storage, and use mobile proxies. Even then warm up the account slowly.

Some Subreddit mods are very strict when it comes to new accounts. Either warm up your accounts by commenting or posting first in large, bot-heavy subreddits (like r/all, r/politics, r/news) or use aged accounts.

It wasn't a link, it was a simple answer to a post to start getting my first karma points... but still got banned

Only on the r/SEO sub, I can still using reddit but not posting/commenting there

don't use same link in bio, new proxy, new fingerprints, do a lot of warmup and act like a real human

Reddit is super strict… At first, it’s best to post harmless stuff like pets to earn some karma. Don’t include any external links in the beginning.

if you are using the same device and same browser that you dint wipe the data, they are going to ban you because its the exact same thing they banned you with, even if you Ip is different. these are the most common ways they can detect you, but your browser finger printing, device components, time zones and other patterns. also visiting the same sub you were banned with another account they will catch you eventually.

Mods will complain about certain users who seem to evade thier filters, but cant do anything at that moment, so they are aware, and they often will try to contact ADMIN on your account.

firefox and chrome is the most one they recognized, you can use forks in the future with different settings.

and yes the other things you mentioned, they track tha ttoo, reddit is probably the most oppressive moderated site out there.

having everything new might delay a ban, but if you are doing the same thing reddit will ban you for that.

Reddit bans usually track more than just IP — they use cookies, device/browser fingerprints, posting style, and behavior patterns.
Even with a new IP and account, if your activity looks similar, mods or Reddit’s system can flag you.
Buying aged accounts often leads to bans too, since trust signals and usage history matter more than just karma.

don't you change your device? Because when your account got banned, your IP and device info will be blacklisted too. So if you only change IP address, it still can be suspended. You don't need to buy new PC, you can use tool like antidetect browser or VPS
