Meta Ads Credit Line - First Time Setting One Up for a Client, Need Advice

Hey BHW

I’ve been working with a local ecom client (clothing brand) for about 3 months now. We’re doing 20–30 orders a day, spending around $3k–$4k monthly on Meta. Things are going well and he’s now asking me to set up a credit line for the account, but I’ve never done that before.

He wants something small for now, maybe half the monthly spend like $1.5k–$2k.
I’m not sure how Meta’s credit system works exactly — do they offer that size credit line at this stage? How do we even apply for it? Any specific requirements I should know about?

Appreciate any tips or if someone’s done this before. Don’t want to mess it up.

Hey! Meta credit lines usually require consistent ad spend history, clean billing, and business verification. For $1.5k–$2k, you might qualify. Go to Business Manager → Payments → Credit Line tab (if eligible). If it’s not there, try reaching out to Meta support to request it. Good luck!

but i have some questions :

- what is exactly a consistent ad spend history ? we have a hisotry of 3-4 months is that enough ?
- also how much should i ask ? should i ask for $1k or $2k or less or more ? and why ?

Just use a business credit card or a service like Brex, Payoneer, or even Wise for ad payments. Some of these give you 30–60 day float—basically the same end effect as a Meta credit line, but safer and more flexible.

Saw a few replies mention it too—don’t try to force this or spoof it. If you miss a payment on Meta’s side or mess with billing settings, you can get account flags or worse. That’s a headache you don’t want.

Also, unless you’ve got a Meta rep (rare at this spend level), there’s not much direct support you can get to “ask for” a credit line—it’s all automated.

I think this would be good for you. It would make things easier to spend on advertising for 1 month and then pay. maybe you can ask for more.

• How do I set up these types of accounts, and what do I need to get started?
• Which of these providers is the best to start with (Brex, Payoneer, Wise, etc.)?
• Do I need a spending history or trusted transaction history with them to begin?

Meta credit lines are typically for businesses with steady ad spend and a good payment history. For smaller lines like $1,500–$2,000, this is unlikely to happen unless invited. For now, you should use a postpaid card or auto-renewal of the payment threshold over time.
