Do other search engines also impose penalties on websites like Google? Anyone experienced this ?

I haven't experienced it. But they might shadow ban your site. One of my sites reached zero impressions and traffic, and then returned to previous positions after 2-3 weeks on Bing. I just ignored it. I don't think it's normal. So, they do give penalties but are not aggressive like Google. If SEOs badmouth about them, they might loose whatever traffic they already have.

Valid point. But there should be some strictness also. Like if they do not punish spam, lot os useless sites will appear in search.

Bing is the only other search engine that I get traffic from that matters. Every other one is so insignificant that it wouldn't matter if they penalize you.

It's like a poor and unknown country sanctioning someone. It wouldn't matter.

If they do penalize sites, most people won't know because they don't get much traffic anyway.

They need not have to punish individual sites. They just need to update their algorithm so that it differentiates between quality content and spam. When their algorithm prefers spam over authority sites and quality content, they tend to deindex spam sites to hide their inefficiency.

Yes they issue penaties but the traffic on other search engines are so low it wont really matter like if you get penalty from google

yeah other search engines got their own rules too. all got systems to filter low quality or spammy stuff. not as harsh as google sometimes but still can tank visibility if u mess up
