Verizon Throttles Back Their Internet Clients

The past few days my internet has been as poor as my sports teams in terms of performance.

Checking, they throttle you back at some point, which is "insensitive" to their clients.

Is that common with other providers as I have never had that issue in the past with others.

Uffff. Once had this problem when small (and very good quality) isp that I was using got acquired by big corporation. Instantly crappy internet. Like, overnight. Had to terminate the contract and move to another (small) isp.

I kind of got hosed and it is probably on me as much as Verizon.

In January, I consolidated our mobile phones and internet to make things cleaner as we had 3 different providers. It saved a few dollars but more importantly it took 3 bills and made one... magic.

Like an irresponsible shopper, I didn't even bother to check their history as to their internet. I knew they had billing issues but I'm not too bad when it comes to billing issues as I put everything I do in a calendar.

Phone service is fine, internet was until just the other day.

Since I'm an old guy with time on my hands, I've sent them a bunch of messages on their SM as well as to their customer service but I should not have to do that nor should they do what they are doing to their customers.

I'm incredibly horrible to argue with and the folks at Verizon caught on to that.

They were so kind to fix the issue without admitting they did what they did but admission of guilt was not my end game, it was get my internet back to what I am paying for.

The hosts there have only one goal: To get guests to enjoy their vacation and get off their phones {wink-wink}

sounds like u been around the block w/ providers so ur read’s prob spot on. not every1 catches that kinda throttling early. def smells like soft cap tactics, they just dress it diff now. u ain’t trippin.

I never had issues with verizon fios throttling. I've never had an issue with throttling with any isp now that I think about it.

I feel like my internet speed shouldn’t always be so fast, especially since I’m on a basic plan. I sometimes wish it would drop so I could take a break from using it. Unfortunately, here in Saudi Arabia, the speed never decreases, and that’s likely due to government restrictions on internet usage.

I never had issues with verizon fios throttling. I've never had an issue with throttling with any isp now that I think about it.

My State does not have Fios but that is not the issue.

Verizon does this often and I'll play their game.

I may just go on down to the local Verizon store with my GoPro and film all their customers going in and out from a public sidewalk and make their life uncomfortable just like they did mine.

We've been with Virgin Media for about 8 years now and have never noticed any throttling. We have the quickest package available in the UK though, so even if they did we'd probably not notice it. We have a lot of devices connected at the same time (can be as many as 8) and still get this:-

When I was in the US, I noticed this same thing. I do not know if it was just a bad time or the weather or my phone, but I was getting like 5Mbps speeds at best. I could not believe it. I had heard from my American friends (a few years ago at this point, but still) that Verizon is supposed to be the most premium. My international SIM worked better than theirs.

To the best of my knowledge most isps can throttle, they just don't tell you they have software that does it.

I had a similar issue in multiple countries, contacted them and voila my Internet connection was sped up.
