Scaling fails: is it the cloaker or creative?

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to share a little pain I ran into recently that maybe get some of your thoughts on it too.

I had a campaign that looked promising. At around the $500 mark, things started crumbling. First came a soft disapproval. Then the ad account was gone. Classic “FB sweep,” nothing new there. But the weird part?
I re-ran the exact same funnel a week later with a different cloaker setup but same creative, same LP and it held for 3 days instead of just a few minutes.

So now I’m starting to believe that the right cloaker can sometimes save a funnel that would otherwise get flagged. Not forever, obviously but long enough to make ROI worth it.

Curious if anyone here has had similar scaling fails?
Do you typically rotate cloakers when scaling? Or is it all about rewriting creatives and pacing spend?
Try to create and innovate your own way of doing things to have a higher success rate. Sometimes keeping the same method is not good, it is only good when it is effective.

Yeah, had the same thing happen. One setup gets killed quick, then same funnel with a different cloaker holds much longer. Makes you realize how much the cloaker matters. Tried a few cloakers like jci, trafficshield, adspect, noip etc. some are good but too expensive to use, some are not good and some are best at a reasonable price, so choose wisely. Changing creatives or slowing spend helps a bit, but if the cloaker isn’t solid, it still trips the filters. Seen better results when the setup's tight from the start.
Sometimes it's not just abt the tool itself but how it's integrated with warming flow, prelanders, BM quality, and pixel hygiene. A $500 cloaker won’t save a poorly prepped setup

Yeah, cloaker definitely makes a difference. I’ve cycled through NoIPFraud, Keitaro with mods, and even TrafficShield — and weirdly, the same funnel behaves totally differently depending on which one I’m running. TrafficShield held longer than most in my runs. Not flawless, and maybe just timing, but I’ve seen fewer random flags compared to others. Definitely worth rotating setups when scaling — FB catches on fast.
In my runs, same cloaker + same lander but from different accounts = wildly different results
Maybe Meta’s behavioral scoring on BM and ad content plays a bigger role than we thought

Sometimes scaling failure comes from Facebook's ad delivery

I had a similar experience—sometimes the right cloaker helps keep ads running longer, but it’s temporary. Most scale by rotating cloakers, refreshing creatives, and pacing spend to avoid flags.

Yes the cloakers and the integrations can vary a lot.

But if its fast bans, then its likely not the creatives but the cloaker was leaking.

When an advertising campaign is not working, it is important to determine whether the cause is the 'cloaker' or the 'creative' element

Yes, different cloakers can give different results — even with the same funnel and creative. A fresh cloaker often holds longer (a few days instead of minutes).
When scaling, many people try these ways bro:
  • Rotate cloakers regularly
  • Slightly tweak creatives
  • Scale budget slowly
  • Use multiple domains/LPs to split traffic
  • Run clean ads first to warm the pixel/ad ID

Scaling failures can come from both. If the cloaker isn't working properly, your setup gets flagged fast. If the creative is weak or burned out, it won’t convert. Test both separately to find the real issue.

Ad obfuscation is always a difficult problem for advertisers today. Maintain, change and update Facebook's policies regularly.

You can run multiple cloaker setups in parallel for A/B. Use lower front-end budget pacing ($100–$300/day per BM) and run wide

Absolutely testing both separately is key and a solid cloaker won’t save a burnt-out creative, and vice versa.

Yess. Swapping cloakers is often the go-to move, but many overlook how fast creatives burn out these days.

Yeah I’ve had funnels die fast even when everything looked clean. Cloaker makes a difference for sure. Been through Adspect, Jci, and recently gave TrafficShield a shot. Wasn’t expecting much, but it held longer than the others in one of my FB runs. Not a huge sample size yet, but it’s on my radar now.

Changing cloakers helps funnels live longer, showing that cloakers have a big impact on campaign “liveliness” — many people also rotate cloakers when scaling, combining creative adjustments and budget pacing to avoid sweeps.

I’ve tried Adspect briefly but haven’t tested Jci or TrafficShield yet, good to know TS held up longer in your case.
