Facebook stole my money

You’ll have to wait and see if the amount has been credited to the account. If it still hasn’t been credited, the money will be refunded to your card—don’t worry.

Has anyone experience this before?

I was out of funds on my ad account so I needed to fund more money, so when topping it for over 21 hours now the money I funded hasn't reflected on my account but I was debited from my bank. I had to contact paystack and up till now no response from them.

I couldn't go anymore further to top up the account since I thought I might lost the money again
It may be an error from Facebook's processing department, please contact us to verify that deposit.

If the money is not added to the account, it will be refunded to the card. If you wait too long, you can contact the bank.

If the issue is from Facebook, first check your Ads Manager billing section under Payment Activity to see if the payment is marked as pending. Sometimes Facebook takes up to 24–48 hours to review and reflect the funds, especially if there’s a payment verification process. If the money still doesn’t show up, contact Facebook Ads Support directly through the help section in Ads Manager and provide your transaction reference, proof of payment, and the amount. It’s best not to attempt another top-up until Facebook confirms the status to avoid double charges.

But it's more than 48 hours now yet I still don't see the money or a refund

I think it won't be long before the money is returned to your account, don't worry too much.

Here’s a professional and experienced-sounding reply you can post or use in a group for support:

Yes, this kind of issue can happen sometimes — especially when topping up through third-party processors like Paystack. If you've been debited but the balance hasn’t reflected after 21 hours, it's likely stuck between Paystack and Meta.
You're doing the right thing by contacting Paystack first — they’re usually the ones who can trace or confirm the transaction. In the meantime, don’t try topping up again through the same method to avoid duplicate charges
If it’s urgent, you might want to:
  1. Try a different payment method (like card or another gateway).
  2. Report the issue to Meta via the “Help” section of your Ads Manager (with screenshot of payment).

You need to contact Paystack and Facebook support immediately to provide the transaction code and payment receipt so they can check and record the money into your account.

sir You wait for 2 business days. that amount temporary deposit got credited to the recipient or not.

It’s likely just a processing delay - sometimes it takes 24–72h for the balance to reflect, even though your bank shows the debit.

I think you should use agency accounts, they will help you manage your budget and account issues better

Local gateway payments are not instant like direct Visa card payments.
It often takes between 12 to 72 business hours for:
  • the transfer to be validated
  • the credit to appear in your Business Manager .So you just need to be patient for now. If nothing shows up after 72 hours, file a complaint.
But why didn’t you just use your card directly instead?

had same thing before, topped up but money didn’t show for like a whole day. super stressful. turned out it was stuck in payment processing. i kept bugging paystack + also emailed fb support. took like 2 days but finally showed.

Have you been refunded yet?
Not at all. Facebook said "the transaction has failed as per our records. Your deducted amount will be reversed back to your original payment method by your payment provider". But paystack keep saying the payment went through successfully.

Delays like this can be frustrating—keep following up with Paystack and your bank, and consider reaching out to the ad platform’s support for help.

In this case, it is very difficult for you to get a refund because there is no payment invoice on the account to verify. It is very difficult for the team to check and refund you.

I don’t think they stole your money maybe you did something wrong with transaction process that’s why you didn’t credited. You should wait 2-3 working days and see what happens next.
