Cloaking FB Pixel: Quick Tips for BH Ads?

Thank you!
1. Do you know if the same rule also apply for Native platforms like Taboola, MediaGO etc?
2. Is it recommended to use a proxy when sending events through the CAPI (Conversions API)?
1. i dont work with those 2 platforms, so im not really sure
2. Not really needed, unless you’re have latency issues. I’d suggest testing without it first and see the result, then you can decide

Tracking in "gray" environments is always a fine balance between stability and stealth.
You can run CAPI-only — we’ve tested this in a few flows. If you drop the Pixel completely, attribution gets less consistent, especially with multiple adsets.
✅ Best combo: Fire minimal frontend pixel (PageView only) + send event data via CAPI.

Hi all, I'm diving into BH advertising on FB, using Voluum and GTM for tracking and a cloaker.
I have two questions about cloaking the FB Pixel:
  1. Is it mandatory to use the FB Pixel, or can I rely solely on the CAPI API?
  2. What's the best method to cloak the pixel—cropping the pixel, proxying it, setting it on a thank you page?or something else?
Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
If you prefer to hide the Pixel and only need to track hidden conversions, CAPI + server-side proxy Pixel or complete CAPI-only is effective.

If you still need retargeting, A/B testing and ads optimization, use both Pixel + CAPI, but hide the Pixel with proxy/delay-fire wisely.

Set up server-side with sGTM or Stape to simplify, optimize tracking

Capi alone can work but combining with Pixel boosts tracking accuracy
Cloak Pixel on the thank-you page using Adspect to dodge bans

You don’t need the pixel if CAPI is set up right, but skipping it can trigger weak data flags.
Best setup: fire pixel only on thank you page or clean prelander
Avoid placing it on the offer/black page at all costs

If you want to hide the pixel you should not add the pixel to your campaign.

1. Is it mandatory to use the Facebook Pixel?
→ No. You can use CAPI (Conversions API) only without installing the Pixel. CAPI is safer for blackhat because it’s server-side and harder for Facebook to detect.
2. What’s the best method to cloak the Pixel?
  • Best option: Completely remove the Pixel and use only CAPI via Voluum or GTM server-side.
  • Alternative: Place the Pixel only on the thank-you page, not on the main landing page.
  • Not recommended: Show Pixel to bots while cloaking real content (too risky if the cloaker isn’t strong enough).
In short:
If you're running BH, stick with CAPI only to avoid detection.
→ Use Pixel only on the thank-you page if needed.
→ A clean setup = longer account life.

You can just use CAPI, and an effective way to cloak is to only fire the pixel or event on a secure page like a thank you page, avoiding pre-landers.

1. No, you can use CAPI-only. It's safer for BH - no front-end pixel for FB to detect.
2.
Best: Use CAPI only, trigger it server-side on thank you page
Safer: Fire pixel only on thank you page (no pixel on dirty page)
Risky: Proxy or crop pixel - harder to maintain, still detectable

pixel is not required my friend, if not it will not be detected, and no need for hidden links.

Normally, people will not use CAPI independently but will combine it with pixels to increase speed and identify data more accurately.

Nice, sounds like you're already deep into the setup. Here's what I’ve learned (and what most media buyers doing BH on FB are leaning toward in 2025):

1. Do you need the FB Pixel?
Nope, not mandatory. A lot of guys now go CAPI-only (Conversions API) to stay stealth. It gives you more control, doesn’t rely on browser events, and is harder for Facebook to flag when done right. That said, some still use both (Pixel + CAPI) and filter the signals.
2. Best method to cloak the pixel?
Most common (and safest) setup is:

Fire the real FB pixel only on the white page (the cloaked lander)
Use a proxy setup or GTM to completely isolate BH activity

Some use a thank you page on a clean domain and send events only from there. It’s safer, but less data-rich.

Combining it with Pixel still gives better optimization and data depth in most cases. It will bring more data and the more data you have

Running a Facebook campaign targeting Europe with Cloaking.House, but 90-93% of traffic is filtered as black IPs or VPN/proxies. Reports show IPs from Sweden, US, UK, often corporate or "Facebook" ISP (bots). FB ad manager shows fewer hits, with the lowest filter ratio at 30% (70% traffic is filtered - calculation based on counted FB hits).

Details:
  • Using Cloaking.House default bot/VPN filters + custom corporate IP blacklists.
  • Broad European audience, no tight geo-restrictions.
  • White page is compliant, offer is BH.
Is this filter ratio normal, or is my campaign attracting bots? Any tips to optimize Cloaking.House or reduce bot traffic without risking bans? Could creatives or ad account setup be the issue?

I'll appreciate your insights.

Cloaking Facebook Pixel is against Meta's policies and risks permanent bans. For safer tracking in sensitive niches, use compliant event setups, separate BMs, or third-party analytics tools. Always stay within platform guidelines to avoid penalties.

1. Using the Facebook Pixel script is not mandatory. You can definitely rely solely on the Conversion API (CAPI) to send data from your server to Facebook without embedding the pixel code on your website. However, in my opinion, using the Pixel is still a much better option.
2. You can conceal the pixel by placing it on the thank-you page.

- Using the FB Pixel is not mandatory. You can rely solely on the CAPI API for tracking, as it can send events directly from your server to Facebook.
- For cloaking the FB Pixel, the best method is typically proxying it or using a server-side solution (CAPI). Setting it on a thank you page can also work but may not be as effective for tracking all events properly.
Good luck, and make sure to stay within Facebook's guidelines to avoid issues!
