Is crypto more popular for payments now ?

I rarely have people ask to pay with Crypto.

And if they do, I say we don't take Crypto, and most of the time they end up paying in fiat anyway.

The vast majority of transactions online are made with fiat, I haven't Googled it but I'd guess 99% of transactions online are made with fiat.

Payments in crypto is huge. it really depends on the market. I stopped accepting card/paypal payments in 2019 for all my projects and businesses. Sometimes I still get customers asking to pay with card and I mostly redirect them to buy crypto.

Redirect them to buy crypto means ? You ask them to register on some exchange ?

50 % 60% of my payments are no on crypto

This completely depends on what you are selling online
If you are selling toys, kitchen utensils or makeup, crypto payments will be basically useless
If you are selling digital services, digital products, etc, it can be very important

This is so true. It 100% depends on market!

Is crypto more popular for payments compared to PayPal now for online payments ?
Crypto is now more popular than it used to be couple of years ago, but it's still nowhere near as popular as Paypal talk more of being more popular.

Don't replace Paypal with crypto unless you live in a country where you have issues with creating a paypal account.

I can see this number increasing in future only. If something bad happens to crypto, then only traditional payment methods can make comeback.
But government does not give guarantee on value of crypto. They are supporting it as long as the market is shining.

You're a bit wrong here. Accepting crypto payment isn't done manually nowadays.
There is stable coins like USDT and USDC. Let alone the huge embrace of BTC and LTC as payment methods.
Accepting crypto isn't related to market anymore. Some payment gateways now offer auto-convert to USDT, even some of them offer auto fiat withdrawal to your bank
It's highly evolving. but as stated above by other members. it depends on the market. If it's not digital product. I don't expect it to be sold with crypto.

There was an article I read about namecheap handling over 1.1 million Bitcoin transactions which is worth over 80 million in USD.
So it's definitely there for digital products. Not yet for physical.

Honestly, from what I've seen lately—especially in online business and freelancing circles—crypto is definitely gaining ground over PayPal. A lot of people (myself included) have shifted to using stablecoins like USDT or USDC because they’re faster, have fewer restrictions, and you avoid the sudden account freezes or high fees PayPal is known for.

That said, I wouldn’t say crypto has fully replaced PayPal yet. PayPal is still super common for traditional e-commerce sites and among people who aren’t that into crypto. But in more niche or international communities (like devs, digital marketers, or freelancers in certain countries), crypto is starting to feel like the preferred option.

Its getting more popular, and in my opinion it’s the easiest way to pay for online services anyway. There’s quite a few stablecoin options on cheap to use chains like BEP20.
