scary future

Starting a new platform can be difficult and complicated, and it's not even known if it will be stable.

It must be so because everyone has their own job.

I guess they'd have to rethink everything, maybe pivot to selling tools, subscriptions, or even licensing AI tech. Or... leave. Honestly, when a ship shifts direction, not all the crew stays on.

If facebook can't make money anymore, and running ads is too expensive, what should the people who work for facebook do?
If you don't have this job, there will be another job. If you don't have this foundation, there will be another foundation. Surely you will still survive.

Overall, this conversion process is quite costly and inefficient under the current circumstances. We need to change the content and visuals to test the ads in order to achieve better advertising metrics.

I don't think that can happen, They're pioneer. Ads are expensive cuz of high competition, If competition decreases ads will be affordable on that niche but regardless fb wil still make money.

They’d likely pivot toward AI, AR/VR, or other profitable products. Big tech usually reinvents fast when ad revenue slows down.

We have to go find another ship to stay on.

Do you have any suggestions for other platforms?

Moving to another platform or pivoting is always an option. They might shift to offering tools, subscriptions, or licensing AI tech, which is a strong growth area.

AI is gradually replacing humans, how can we be more valuable than AI?

AI is gradually replacing humans, how can we be more valuable than AI?
As AI continues to evolve, it’s true that many tasks traditionally performed by humans are being automated. However, our value lies in areas where AI still can’t fully compete: creativity, emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, and the ability to adapt and innovate in unpredictable situations. While AI can handle repetitive tasks efficiently, humans bring nuance, empathy, and complex problem-solving skills that are irreplaceable.

Always be prepared, and always have a way out.

Facebook's ad landscape is definitely changing - higher costs and stricter policies are forcing everyone to adapt. But every shift creates new opportunities too. The key is staying flexible, testing alternative traffic sources, and building systems that aren’t fully reliant on one platform.

If Facebook loses its ability to make money, many people will probably leave, Meta will lose its competitive advantage, many people will move to other platforms. Facebook will probably update more features that are more suitable for users and advertisers to balance advertising costs with competing platforms. Because Facebook is already a widely used platform, it was built by a team of engineers and has gone through a long journey. What do you think Meta will do to retain users and advertisers in this case?
