Porkbun is working good for me. There is a big difference in renewal price. Which adds up when you have 10s of domains.

One of the possible applications would be to get 100s/1000s of these domains to test some SEO tactics.
Maybe link between each other.
Then if some domain got some traction - do as @nirose said and transfer it to a better registrar.

But there are 2 big BUTs:

1 - Need to read the conditions thoroughly to see if they allow domain transfers when "bought" for $0. Finding this quirk might take a long time.
2 - It is just one domain and they will ask your credit card, to avoid you ordering thousands of them.

Idk if carding is still a thing, but it would be such a big endeavor to use this free offer.

A lot easier, cheaper (in terms of the cost of your time - if you're so smart to make this all happen) would be to get $1 offer for these domains from other registrars.

Overall the offer smells scammy - big renewal cost, just one promo for one domain. This is all done just to get your attention to a nothingburger.
