For the past few months, I’ve been hearing this question from almost everyone: Is SEO dead or not?
I really want to know the truth.
If you’re experienced in this field, please share your honest thoughts.

No, SEO isn’t dead ,but it’s definitely not what it used to be. The old playbooks don’t work like before. If you’re still relying on bulk content, expired domains, or easy backlinks, you’ll get crushed. But for those who adapt ,focus on real topical authority, user intent, and smarter site structures ,there’s still a lot to gain.

It’s not dead, it just evolved. And yeah, it’s harder. But that also means fewer people know how to do it right.

SEO has one key word "search engine" in it. Search Engine as we know it are dead. Search engines are now using AI, so click through rate is less and for many people chatgpt is the new search engine. So say as you want to say, but SEO is dead.

Thank you very much for your important information.
However, I would be very grateful if you could tell me how I can get good results.

Glad it helped, zakariagazi. If you want real results today, focus on one niche, go deep, and build topical authority. Don’t chase dozens of random keywords ,go for clusters around one clear theme. Structure your internal links well, use clean HTML, fast loading, and don’t stuff content with fluff just to hit word counts.

Also, track what actually ranks now, not what worked two years ago. Study who’s winning page 1 in your niche , then reverse-engineer it with intent in mind.

Actually, SEO is not dead and will not be.
Apart from SEO you have to ensure GSEO/AIO for doing better in this era.
Now the SEO is basic and GSEO is advance level.

For everything I search, there still are regular blogs showing up on the first page. So, it's not dead. Competitive, yes.

SEO isn’t dead. It’s just evolving. Old tactics like spammy backlinks or keyword stuffing are gone, but high-quality content, strong UX, and intent-focused SEO are more important than ever. Adapt, and it still works.

I'll also concur, SEO is not dead, but it has been roughly cut in half in its effectiveness, due to current factors often discussed here. One's digital marketing plan should be more of a "suite" approach that includes consideration of factors like social media, AI, use of high traffic sites et al, to maintain consistent traffic.

SEO isn’t dead, it just keeps dying every year in headlines. Meanwhile, smart SEOs are still ranking and cashing in.

SEO isn’t dead—it’s simply maturing into something far more holistic than it was a decade ago. What we once thought of as “gaming keywords” and link farms has largely given way to a focus on user intent, content quality, site performance, and E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness).

Google’s algorithms have gotten extremely good at understanding natural language and what people really want when they type a query. Thin pages that try to rank for every variation of a term without adding genuine value usually get buried now. Instead, sites that produce deep, well-structured content around focused topics—and that serve that content quickly, securely, and responsively—continue to climb.

Technical SEO remains critical. If your pages don’t load fast, break on mobile, or throw errors at Googlebot, you’ll lose rankings no matter how great your copy is. Likewise, a solid internal linking structure, clean crawl paths, and robust schema markup give search engines clear signals about your content’s purpose and how to serve it in rich results.

Where SEO “dies” is in the idea that you can set and forget. It’s no longer a one-and-done checklist but an ongoing practice of monitoring shifts in user behavior, adapting to new SERP features (like AI-powered snippets and “People Also Ask”), and refining your site architecture as your topics grow. Those who treat SEO as a living discipline—continuously optimizing for users, not just algorithms—will find it more valuable than ever.

In short, if you’re writing with real audience needs in mind, keeping your technical house in order, and embracing new ways search engines interpret content, SEO is very much alive—and perhaps more essential now than when it was a pure “keyword game.”

Of course not

  • User Intent Rules: Content must precisely solve what users are searching for—keywords alone won’t cut it.
  • E-E-A-T (Expertise, Experience, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness): In-depth guides, original data, and clear author bylines are mandatory.
  • Technical Foundations: Fast, mobile-friendly sites with good Core Web Vitals, schema markup, and clean architecture still matter.
  • Semantic & AI Signals: Cover related subtopics naturally; use AI for ideation but always human-review for quality.
  • Holistic Integration: SEO now overlaps with social, PR, email, and UX—signals from all channels boost search performance.
  • Bottom Line: SEO isn’t dead—focus on strategy and real user value to keep growing.

I would say No, SEO is not dead, it’s just changing

Google now focuses more on helpful content, E-E-A-T, and user experience

Old tricks don’t work anymore, but real SEO, quality content, solid structure, and good backlinks still works and will keep working

No — SEO is not dead, but it has evolved dramatically.
