1. Meta allows search engines to index public content
Starting July 10, 2025, search engines like Google and Bing will be able to crawl and index all public photos and videos on Facebook and Instagram. This will make your content more discoverable through search, but it also means you need to be careful about how public your posts are
2. AI feature suggests Story ideas
Meta is testing a new AI feature that asks users to upload personal photos to suggest content, stories, or collage frames. While the feature is guaranteed not to be used for advertising, it has sparked privacy controversy because it forces users to voluntarily upload photos from their devices.
3. Automatically delete livestream videos after 30 days (Vietnam)
In some markets, including Vietnam, Facebook has begun implementing a policy of automatically deleting livestream videos after 30 days from the broadcast date, starting in early July 2025
4. Tighten spam content, using tricks to increase reach
Meta is implementing a new system to minimize spam content, especially:
Long captions, many unrelated hashtags;
Captions that do not reflect the video content.
Such posts will only be shown to followers, will not be widely recommended, and may be stripped of monetization rights if used to “attract views”
5. Improved privacy controls
Users now have more detailed options to manage who can see their posts, who can track their usage data, and advertising goals. Facebook recommends that everyone check their privacy settings regularly for more safety
6. Friends Tab - focus on content from friends
The Friends Tab feature (the "Friends" tab) allows users to filter to see only posts, Reels, Stories, birthday reminders... from the friends list, without suggested content. Starting rollout in the US & Canada, will expand globally in 2025
✅ Tips for application
Content Recommended actions
Public photos/videos Check the public mode ("Public") carefully because it may appear in search results
Livestream Archive important videos for 30 days, if necessary continue to access
AI content Carefully review permission when allowing uploading personal photos to the AI system
Caption & hashtags Avoid spam; Prioritize short, relevant captions to avoid triggering spam systems
Privacy Settings Regularly review privacy settings, especially if you care about personal data
Friends Tab Take advantage of building highly interactive content with friends, encourage tab settings to display on the navigation bar
Conclusion
July 2025 brings many notable changes in search engines, AI, privacy, and user experience. If you are using Facebook for personal or business purposes, it is extremely important to understand these updates to optimize content, avoid privacy risks, and maximize interaction efficiency.

Does this mean good news or bad news for businesses advertising on the meta platform?

Great question. Analyzing from the perspective of an advertiser/business person on the Meta platform (Facebook & Instagram), the July 2025 updates bring both opportunities and challenges, but overall good news if you do it the right way, without using tricks (blackhat).

Tell me more.. How can we use this to our advantage as much as possible even if it means using BH tricks?

Meta's July 2025 changes are aimed at cleaner content, tighter privacy, and better user experiences—marketers should adapt by avoiding spammy tactics, managing visibility, and leveraging new features like the Friends Tab intelligently.

That’s right – Meta’s July 2025 update is all about clean content, greater privacy, and a better user experience. Marketers should focus on content quality, avoid spam, and leverage new features like the Friends Tab to increase distribution efficiency.

I don't encourage BH tricks, but to make the most of Meta changes safely, you should:
Focus on building quality content, on topic
Optimize public photos/videos to increase the chance of appearing on Google
Use Friends Tab to increase natural reach from real accounts
Avoid spam captions, repeating keywords - instead write short, right insight for viewers
This is a clean - effective - sustainable direction.

thank you so much for compiling this valuable information, but if you could present it in a nicer way to make it easier to read, that would be great hehe, just kidding.

Thanks for sharing the update. These changes will definitely impact both content creators and advertisers. It's crucial to stay updated and adjust strategies accordingly, especially regarding privacy, AI use, and post visibility.

Thank you for your interest in the article, good luck with your work

I think it's bad news for BH advertising, because the link wrapping issue is still being developed well, there's no reason they can fix the limitations from converting to a new form, for my customers who are using conversion, they always have the problem of fallback from link wrapping to advertising

Absolutely agree! Meta's recent updates are shaping a more transparent and user-focused environment. For advertisers and content creators, adapting quickly — especially in how we handle content quality, visibility, and AI integration — will be key to staying effective and compliant. Thanks for highlighting it!

This update has far-reaching implications for both content strategy and security. Allowing public photo/video indexing makes privacy management more important than ever, especially for users who use the platform to build their personal or business brands. Spam rating systems will also force creators to optimize captions and hashtags strategically rather than overdoing it. Filtering by friends is a big plus, giving users more control over their feeds. However, what I wonder is: with the new spam-tightening mechanism, can the platform's AI distinguish between "smart headline" content and real spam?

You’re right — the fallback from link wrapping to standard ad delivery still causes disruptions, especially for conversion-focused campaigns. It’s important to monitor how Meta continues to evolve this system, and in the meantime, optimize landing page speed, tracking setup, and user flow to reduce performance loss.

Great insights — and that’s a valid question. Meta’s AI has improved in identifying context, but the line between a clever hook and actual spam can still be blurry. That’s why content creators need to balance creativity with clarity, ensuring headlines align with the real value of the post. Over time, smarter optimization — not just trickier wording — will likely be the key to sustainable reach.

Thanks for the detailed update. Some of these changes, especially around indexing public posts and AI photo suggestions, will definitely affect how we handle content. Appreciate the tips , super helpful for anyone managing accounts right now.
