I need Youtube shorts channel advice please

Basically i have been working on a channel for about a month with littles views but I'm still motivated to keep posting and growing it
but i have another idea for shorts i want to try out

should i use a brand new channel for my new shorts or just post them on my original channel

pros of using the same channel:
it might help bring more views to my other videos
it will up the subscribers
increase the overall watch time

cons of using the same channel:
it would be all over the place (mix of different topics) which might affect subs and their feeds making them unsub
can't think of anymore atm lol

what would you do?

I will not ask you what your first channel is, but consider these questions:

1. Is it a “sexy” thing or just something you like?
2. What is your posting methodology? Repurposing? Original content? A mix? Do you do anything special?
3. Did you train fyp accurately? Maybe you liked and commented in things in your niche, but not with the biggest accounts? Maybe you target them a bit more too?
4. Do you have a “timing” problem? E.g: you like to post John Wick stuff. But the franchise is over. However, they did Ballerina, which is a spin-off. So you want to time good John Wick content into Ballerina release. Then continue with Ballerina content, then you will continue that with the next James Bond (within theme). You get it.

As for the second acc, I would do a new one. Do not mix them.

What you can do is see if the subjects complement each-other. If they do, exchange traffic between the two. Build them both up.

This can be a problem. Maybe you do videos about cows, but you like videos about tech. Then your cow videos go to tech people and they are like “wtf”.

If the new shorts are somewhat related to your current content, I'd say post them on the same channel and test how your audience reacts. But if the topics are totally different, starting a new channel might help you stay focused and avoid confusing subscribers. Either way, keep experimenting... it's all part of the growth process.

If both niches are totally different (gaming vs crypto for example), better to split. YouTube, TikTok, IG and others use profile-based models now. Mixed signals weaken targeting and hurt CTR. But if the topics overlap (like two related subcultures), posting them together can help the algorithm identify common audience clusters.

Also, sometimes it's not the content itself but the seed account that's weak. Try reposting a couple of shorts to a new profile and compare traction. You might be surprised.

If I watch videos related to my niche, wouldn't it be strange for my videos to be shown to people who follow those channels? I don't even produce content for my own country. If this is true, there are some things I need to change completely.

If its the same type of content, I say just stick with the old channel cause it would really just help improve it. But if it's a totally different one, just make a separate one.
