Basically i have been working on a channel for about a month with littles views but I'm still motivated to keep posting and growing it
but i have another idea for shorts i want to try out

should i use a brand new channel for my new shorts or just post them on my original channel

pros of using the same channel:
it might help bring more views to my other videos
it will up the subscribers
increase the overall watch time

cons of using the same channel:
it would be all over the place (mix of different topics) which might affect subs and their feeds making them unsub
can't think of anymore atm lol

what would you do?

thanks!

I will not ask you what your first channel is, but consider these questions:

1. Is it a “sexy” thing or just something you like?
2. What is your posting methodology? Repurposing? Original content? A mix? Do you do anything special?
3. Did you train fyp accurately? Maybe you liked and commented in things in your niche, but not with the biggest accounts? Maybe you target them a bit more too?
4. Do you have a “timing” problem? E.g: you like to post John Wick stuff. But the franchise is over. However, they did Ballerina, which is a spin-off. So you want to time good John Wick content into Ballerina release. Then continue with Ballerina content, then you will continue that with the next James Bond (within theme). You get it.

As for the second acc, I would do a new one. Do not mix them.

What you can do is see if the subjects complement each-other. If they do, exchange traffic between the two. Build them both up.

1. kind of both, the views are low but not low enough to abandon it :)
2. its all 100% original content
3. I didn't know this affects it, i use the channel to watch things but i don't watch other videos in my niche
4. Its not really a trend thing, so the fanbase for it isn't really huge

3. You did not know.

Yes, you train the FYP page by liking similar content or content in your niche so that when you post, your videos will be promoted to the audience of the videos you liked.

This can be a problem. Maybe you do videos about cows, but you like videos about tech. Then your cow videos go to tech people and they are like “wtf”.

About the second acc, if you can do something complimentary it is great.

Let’s say on 1st acc you do cows.
On 2nd acc you do dogs. And then you can like the profiles between themselves. Then your audience gets both. Cow people get dogs, dog people get cows and you expand audiences based on diversity.

i had no idea, this is really useful info

thanks :)

If the new shorts are somewhat related to your current content, I'd say post them on the same channel and test how your audience reacts. But if the topics are totally different, starting a new channel might help you stay focused and avoid confusing subscribers. Either way, keep experimenting... it's all part of the growth process.

you can produce content with ai

the most popular videos right now are coming out of artificial intelligence and also using languages in your videos so that your videos can appeal to all countries

If both niches are totally different (gaming vs crypto for example), better to split. YouTube, TikTok, IG and others use profile-based models now. Mixed signals weaken targeting and hurt CTR. But if the topics overlap (like two related subcultures), posting them together can help the algorithm identify common audience clusters.

Also, sometimes it's not the content itself but the seed account that's weak. Try reposting a couple of shorts to a new profile and compare traction. You might be surprised.

Having it on the same channel would be my choice if I were you.
It’s not that how many videos we have on our channel, rather it’s all about how many of them are great quality.

If the new Shorts are in a similar niche, post on the same channel to boost growth. If they’re totally different, start a new channel to keep your audience and algorithm targeting clean. Long-term, niche focus wins.

If I watch videos related to my niche, wouldn't it be strange for my videos to be shown to people who follow those channels? I don't even produce content for my own country. If this is true, there are some things I need to change completely.

Stick with one channel to boost views and subs, but keep shorts thematically close to avoid confusing your audience. Test a few and track engagement! Thoughts? :D

If its the same type of content, I say just stick with the old channel cause it would really just help improve it. But if it's a totally different one, just make a separate one.

You could keep everything on your main channel but organize the new Shorts into their own playlist or series. Just give them a clear, matching thumbnail style and titles.

Creating your own channel is better to keep your audience clear and avoid diluting your feed. But if you find that your content can be linked or complemented, using your old channel can help increase overall engagement. The key is to monitor your audience feedback and adjust accordingly
