Thanks for sharing this and it's super insightful. I have been in this similar position, doing cold DMs on IG and Pinterest but hitting a ceiling around $15k/month. Curious if anyone here scaled past that.. was it paid ads, influencers, or something else that made the difference?

I have checked forms that people are generating 100k+ per month via replica sales.

I have also been trying for the last 2 years on Instagram and Pinterest; we close clients via cold DMs.

But we could not surpass 15k in sales.

What are we doing wrong?

Are you doing it all manually? → Check for systematization
Problem Harm
You send messages yourself → track yourself → close yourself → fulfill yourself? You won’t scale past 3–5 clients at a time
Do you have a CRM, chatbot, autoresponder? If not → you’re not maximizing your close rate
Do you have a team (freelancers/VAs) to DM for you every day? Strong scalers build virtual “DM teams” to close 50–100 leads/day

I am doing replicas dropshipping myself, but we have a way different approach and I do not mind sharing my experience.

All of my sales are done on websites, I never tried doing a WA channel, nor cold selling on IG. We have started with shopify and their default payment processor, but after a few tries and bans (I overheated it with the amounts), I came to the conclusion that you can not scale nor be stable with Shopify Payment. I would say that you have 2 solutions from here :

1. Wordpress + Cloacked WooPayments / PayPal (seen multiple other shops do this ) / Private Merchants that accept it (3k/mo)
2. Shopify as a site builder + Custom merchant, a bunch of them, but can be a big pain in the ass to set up one, as well as pricey.

I ran Facebook video ads with nice offers in 3 regions (UK/NL/IT) and had a nice ROI of 4.5X. with a marginality of 60-70% on items.

My advice for you to scale is to create a WhatsApp Private Group, where you show products, gain people, and become their high quality replicas "dealer", or to try and use one of the approaches for the website + TT or Fb ads, both work well.

There is no denying that there is a little risk, but the profit is much higher than the risk. Sometimes you have to be brave to make money

Chinese supplier are better than using alibaba for these kinds of products, alibaba is not for dropshipping

How many messages you send a day? and doesn't this trigger insta algo to restrict your account?

They are private contacts for that , what you see online is just the surface of replica goods. Their is private factories working to make the most accurate inventory and the quality is better then 99% of the market . No doubt about it.

You're right, large platforms aren't well-suited for this type of sourcing.

I personally find suppliers through personal networking and recommendations from trusted sellers.

Which products are you looking for? I always buy them from WEIDIAN, TAOBAO and 1688. Chinese Platforms like Amazon.
You have to find the best seller for your product.
