Never was, never will be. In case you’re new to this, they’re notorious for pulling stunts exactly like this, which is why anyone even half-serious about the stuff they do avoids GoDaddy and any affiliated resellers.

Next time, try to believe half of the painful experience of people, and not untill you've a direct experience.

Ever since I discovered that GoDaddy would register any good name you input in their domain search if you don't register it immediately, I've stopped using their domain search.

GoDaddy nearly ruined my 10+ year old business.

I had a live domain serving my business back in 2023 and GoDaddy suspended it. A domain which I have been holding with GoDaddy since 2008. When I contacted their regular support, they couldn't do anything. When I got ahold of their management by e-mail, they told us the decision cannot be overturned. No explanation was ever provided why they did this.

I had to hire legal counsel and begin the process of recovering the domain. After 10 days from the time the domain was suspended, they unsuspended the domain and let me transfer it out.

1 year later, I noticed 2 of our competitors have EXACTLY the same issue.

The most likely reason why this happened was a single DMCA complaint. Some mid level employee at GoDaddy then just decides to suspend the domain and remove it from your account. The reason I speculate this is because I moved my domain to a new provider and we have only received 1 complaint in 2 years and it was related to a DMCA issue which was already solved.

GoDaddy cannot be trusted and strongly encourage others to use an alternative service. It's just not worth it when you can find better companies offering better support at cheaper prices. There is really no reason anybody should be using GoDaddy in 2025 when their are a dozen or more superior competitors out there.

What exactly is this DMCA complaint I must ask? Copyright -using other peoples trademark, images, and content ?
So far I know all domain providers and webhosters (maybe exept offshore webhosters) not allow illegal content, copyright infringement, DMCA, Trademark infringement and whatever and whatnot. But not all act rude like the godaddyfokkers, some give you time you remove the content or give you time to transfer your webhositng content + domain to another provider.

Providers who will give you only 48 hrs for that are not trustworthy within 48 hrs that time frame is too tiny.
Better buy domain and webhosting on Putins land= russia providers....but google will not let them rank I guess.

When you have money setup an anonym company Ltd or US Corp. or a Ltd corp. in country Vanuatu as example , buy domain ans webhosting from Vanuatu, I bet no one willthen catch you (it's my theory) have a subsidiary US Corp. in Delaware of that Vanuatu Ltd or Corp. you giving your webiste address a solid trustworthy address , I not think you get clients with a Vanuatu company and address. But this setup will cost you $5-9k I guess.

Yes this happened to me. There are alternative ways to lookup a domain.

They've been shit from the time I used them 10 years ago when they seized a domain I owned. No other registrar ever did this, even when using the same website on the domains.

Avoid them at all costs. Namecheap is also becoming shit slowly.

I have a lot of domains spread out, and one of my registrars is namesilo, so I don't want to have too many on the 1 registrar there.

porkbun is on the consideration list, but @xReminisce on another said they were bad, so I'm awaiting her response to see why

I havent had any issues with porkbun for years. I am having like 50+ domains on them.

Last week I bought a .blog domain on namecheap, it's in th emoment not connected to a webhost or WP installation. Is it normal that in this case, namecheap listing my domain with Sedo logo in the serps , a default domain parked page "this domain is registered with namecheap" ? It makes me little bit scared. I hope this is a normal process.

Shutdown your domain and account, shutdown your webhosting and website when ever they want, what comes next? For what we paying money to registrars and webhost providers- to get more restrictions ? The modern tech giants world comes with a lot of fear.

I moved all my domains out of godaddy many years ago. I agree they are awful and they WILL try to steal valuable domains from you.

I listed a domain of mine with godaddy for sale for $25k. I got an offer on it for $12.5. I haggled with the potential buyer because his offer was low. In the end we didn’t come to a deal and I decided I was going to build on the domain. So I removed it from afternic.

This was my last domain in my godaddy account. I had already transferred everything out but that one since it was still up for sale.

I initiated the transfer of the domain and godaddy sent me an email to the domains email that contained a CTA to click the link to complete transfer. This wasn’t the normal email. This was an email sent purposely by godaddy and the CTA was a link that would have transferred to godaddy not to namecheap.

I contacted them about it and they said that they didn’t do that and it was a phishing email.

I got that domain out of there and I’ll never look back. Stay away from godaddy!
