Starting remotely and getting desperate

Hello ya'll!

I just started my remote journey because I am fed up with the German System!

I had a real nice start on Upwork but these ***** just blocked my Account because I'm logging in from Vietnam but am based in Germany! Obviously when working remote you log in from different places and I have been messaging with them back and forth but it doesnt seem to work or get to my Account being unblocked.
So I just lost my income source as it seems and have no idea how to go on from here.

I checked out different sites already and even made Accounts but they dont seem to provide the same as Upwork...
Does anyone know how I can solve this issue or has an Idea to make money online?
I am running out of options and patience if I am honest because it seems that I am save, but because of their acting I am close to have to move back to germany... and fuck no I wont do this!

So any help would be greatly appreciated!

i would try going through their customer service as a guest person, a different email (without registering yet) and see if you can query on someone is it possible to re-allocate your account to a new geo, or the geo of your business, and keep speaking to someone till they say "that's possible yes" the reason I say that, is I HIGHLY doubt you are the first to come accorss this issue! lol I would make plans on the side to open up a different freelancer account on another platform and get busy with your portfolio promotions on socials, as if you can't get back on upwork, you need to be ready to pivot for those digits asap.

Try contacting them by email. Also, tagging their company or anyone from their company on social media platforms and explaining your situation clearly might be the solution for you. Freelancers keep changing their countries and Upwork might have experienced these kind of issues before as well.

Niche sites, affiliate sites might take time to start giving you earnings and that business model is dying as well due to AI. You can try youtube as well, but earnings from that platform will take time. So best for you will be is to create account on another platform and start searching work as well at same time.

And, you can search this BHW forum and check out what other marketers are doing and hopefully get idea for a side hustle.

Tag them on X (Twitter) and other social media platforms. that shit seems to work a lot.

Hey, I'm from Poland and moved to Sri Lanka. Had this problem with other sites (I don't use Upwork) and either accounts automatically were asigned to Sri Lanka or I had these bans and had to write with support but they unblocked me everywhere. Not sure about Upwork specifically but they have to unblock you eventually, reason with support.

Hey!

Thanks for the quick reply you all!
So apparently they were just not happy that my Location is Germany but my log in is Vietnam.

After back and forth with the support team (first I had my location Germany, then Vietnam but that was a problem with the bank account, then back to germany) I just switch on my newly bought VPN for this purpose and wrote them to review again.
After an hour I got unbanned again with the info that any inconsistency in these Locations I would be banned again...

Pretty dumb in my opinion because obviously working remote you are going to log in from different locations, but they wouldnt let me.
I deinstalled all the upwork stuff and set the settings of the VPN to a kill switch and to always activate itself when I start my PC so whenever I am going to log into Upwork I will have to use VPN.

We will see what the future has for me in that regard but all in all you should be able to connect wherever you want.
I guess they have to deal a lot with fraud and checkout new Accounts very harsh, which is kinda understandable.

I still went to different sites and making my Profile there because you never know but I heard as well that social media works wonders, in case that ever happens agein.

But it is going to suck managing VPN and All. It is better to build a profile on multiple platforms. Or rather, have a permanent connection with the client and an online portfolio. like a personal website and all.

Yeah this will be my future project... right now I just need to make money because im down to my last K xD
So it is buckle up buttercup and start working and in the meantime build the necessary steps
