I'll just give my personal opinion here. My experience tells me airdrops are basically roulette. You hit the right number, you get the jackpot. That means you need to put a lot of chips on a lot of different squares, and that costs both money and time.
Honestly, it's easier to focus on alternative ways to earn crypto that aren't just airdrops. Think getting involved in IEOs, IGOs, IDOs, or just earning specific rewards directly from a project.
For example, I snagged some cash rewards from Cryptomus and then YOLO'd that free money into meme coins. Ended up 7x-ing the reward. How is that worse than an airdrop? I wouldn't have thrown my own money into meme coins, but with free cash, who cares if it tanks?
