Google Sites working good as parasites?

I do not see google sites on google serp.
Better way is research which free platforms on top 10 in your niche.
Just query your niche keywords on google and find platforms.

G sites can work as parasites.
I use them to perform some testing before launch.

Yeah, they still index easy, but ranking is hit or miss lately. Better with strong backlinks or super low comp keywords.

Google Sites still get indexed, but ranking is tough now. They're not as powerful as before for parasite SEO.

Hello guys, Google Sites is still working good as parasites? I can find many posts indexed, but I can't find anything ranked on google.
A lot of people notice that Google Sites pages appear in search results (especially if you search for the exact URL), but they rarely rank well organically. From what I’ve seen, Google treats them as low-authority. They might index them, but they don’t give them much real visibility. Other search engines like Bing and Yandex are slightly more forgiving.

Yes, these links can get indexed, and in theory, they contribute to crawlability or anchor text diversity. However, Google’s algorithms (including their AI systems like RankBrain) heavily discount low-authority subdomains, especially free hosted ones like [sites.google.com]. They’re unlikely to move the needle for rankings unless used in massive, spammy volumes (which usually backfire).

Let me share with you some of my findings:

[Black Hat SEO – Google Sites as Parasitic Hosts]

Tiered Link-Building Structure Using Google Sitesl

Objective: Mask spammy links by diluting their footprint while passing indirect link equity.

1. Hierarchy & Purpose

Tier 1 (Google Sites)
├─ Role: "Decoy" pages to absorb algorithmic scrutiny
├─ Content: Thin but indexable (FAQ, glossaries, etc.)
└─ Links: Point only to Tier 2 (never directly to $Money Site)

Tier 2 (Buffer Layer)
├─ Role: Distribute link equity safely
├─ Types: Web 2.0s (Medium, Blogger), expired domains, PBNs
└─ Links: Point to Tier 3 (or Money Site if low risk)

Tier 3 (Money Site)
└─ Receives "filtered" authority from T2 → T1 dilution

2. Method to Execute

Step 1: Create Tier 1 (Google Sites)
  • Use 10-20 Google Sites pages per target keyword
  • Content: 300-500 words (spun or lightly rewritten)
  • Key: Include 1-2 contextual links to Tier 2 (no-fo-llow)

Step 2: Build Tier 2 (Buffer Links)
  • Sources: High-DA Web 2.0s, press releases, niche edits
  • Content: Higher quality (800+ words, original)
  • Key: Link diversity (mix do-fo-llow/no-fo-llow, anchors)

Step 3: Layer Timing & Automation
  • Stagger indexing: Use Google Search Console for T1, tiered indexers for T2
  • Avoid footprints: Randomize publish dates, hosting IPs, and templates

3. Why This Works (Theoretically)
  • Algorithmic Diffusion: Google's spam filters focus on T1, not deeper tiers
  • Trust Transfer: T2 links inherit "semi-trusted" status from T1 indexing
  • Risk Mitigation: Manual actions typically hit T1 first (sacrificial layer)

Note: This is a high-risk, diminishing-returns tactic. Google's "Link Spam Update" (2022+) penalizes unnatural tiered structures aggressively.

Psychological Trust Factor

Research suggests approximately 15-20% of users instinctively trust links from Google Sites and similar platforms, perceiving them as authentic personal projects rather than SEO constructs. This stems from:

  • The "Underdog Effect" - New marketers often use free platforms when starting out
  • Google's brand association lending false credibility
  • Human tendency to trust ".google.com" subdomains at face value

To exploit this psychological bias effectively:

  1. Create verified social profiles (LinkedIn/Twitter) matching these high-trust personas:
    • Holistic Health Coaches - Works because: Alternative medicine communities actively share grassroots content
    • Freelance Web Developers - Works because: Common for legit professionals to self-promote via free sites
    • Local Service Providers (Plumbers/Electricians) - Works because: Small businesses often use basic web solutions
    • Indie Authors - Works because: Expected to self-publish on multiple platforms
    • Academic Researchers - Works because: Often share preliminary findings via simple sites
    [-]
  2. Produce 12-15 content pieces per profile focusing on:
    • Industry forum responses (WebmasterWorld for developers)
    • Niche subreddit comments (r/SEO for marketers)
    • Local business group posts (Facebook Neighborhoods)
    [-]
  3. Maintain 60/40 ratio with:
    • Promotional content linking to your Google Sites
    • Genuine advice in your persona's specialty

Note: These personas work because they match real-world usage patterns of free hosting services by legitimate users.

This "synthetic authenticity" makes tiered links appear as legitimate grassroots marketing efforts rather than black hat structures, significantly improving their survival rate in search indices.

Google Sites can still be used effectively as parasites, but it seems that they are not ranking well on Google at the moment. It may be worth experimenting with different strategies to see if you can improve your results.

Yes, Google sites still index fast and pass link juice, but ranking depends on content quality, niche and backlinks. They work better when stacked or combined with authority signals.

They used to be easy to rank parasites but not anymore. Google limited their visibility due to high spam. Currently, pdf parasites are working great for short term results (like game hacks or piracy niche) and Reddit is working great for long-term results (like product/service keywords).

Google Sites can work as parasite SEO platforms, but their effectiveness is limited compared to stronger web 2.0s like Medium or LinkedIn—they index fast but usually lack the authority to rank
