indeed they work as parasite.
but hard to rank in google serps in top positions now-a-days.
earlier i saw my g sites including mine in top 10 results. now everything pushed down to 3 or 4th page.

Yes, they work if content and link are good.
I am not sure what you are looking for, but if it is keyword ranks, then I suggest you use ubbersuggest to find out keyword ranks.

Google Sites may still get indexed, but ranking is harder now.
Google is stricter and gives less value to such platforms.
It worked better before, but now results are not so strong. Better to focus on quality and trusted platforms.

It still works, but you need to position it - get the right backlinks + properly craft the content.

not like before. too many spam runs burned it. works better now for link juice or quick indexing, not long term rank. use it smart, not as main play.

Google Site spam touchdown no longer works. Google has already cut it out. You need to add ranked backlinks to Google Site.
