Hi everyone,

I recently noticed that the Discover tab appeared for my site in Google Search Console, which is exciting!

I’d love to make the most of this opportunity and increase the chances of my news content appearing in Google Discover. I know that it's different from traditional search SEO, so I was wondering:

  • What are your best tips or strategies for optimizing content specifically for Discover?
  • Are there particular types of headlines or structures that tend to work better?
  • Any personal experiences or success stories you could share?

I’d really appreciate any guidance you can offer. Thanks in advance!

Could be G just testing. For real Discover traffic, focus on mobile UX, big images (1200px+), and newsy titles. Think feed-style, not blog-style.

I think Discover is probably the most random algorithm Google has - and that's saying something! That being said, what @NeedMyLink posted is pretty much what to aim for for on-page. Be on trend with your title and be clickbaity. Then you need clickthroughs, good dwell time and repeated views.

Its nothing, it just appears when you have influx of traffic and might not be as much useful you are not posting too much content on your website. Like a news website. About an year ago all of my websites were getting discover traffic but after the updates things are not like that again.

Thank you! You can share me any example?
“New Android Update Released Today” → “Android Users Waking Up to Big Changes Today”
Same content, more Discover clicks. title = emotion + curiosity. image was 1200px, fast load, no AMP.
