hey all,

I'm quite new to IM (started a few months ago) and I've made a *little* bit of money here and there with CL/FB/PoF ads but nothing major (I'm still in the red at the end of the month, heh).

I want to get this to the next level, I thought what better place than BHW!!!

I get most of the basic stuff (PPC, CPA, CB, LPs, etc...) but I am struggling really hard with finding a decent niche. Most of the stiff I come up with are incredibly over saturated with most of the time going over 1million searches in google :(... I guess I just need a little bit of coaching on how to do niche/kw research. Name the tool, e-book, I will go get it, I don't care. Or just describe a good technique. This is holding me back big time ..

What I'm doing now is head over to CB, check decent gravity items (80+) and do some searches on google but man, whatever kw or long-tail kw I come up with is insanely crowded and that makes me a very sad panda :crying:

Any input will greatly help, thanks!

Gravity of 80... In my 4 years with ClickBank, I have never promoted any item more than a gravity of 50.

But more than that, I tend to move away from the MMO madness. Pick a slightly obscure niche like cake decorating (or something similar) and run the keywords through the Google tool. You should get some workable ideas that way.

Basically what I do is this:

1. I'll find a product with gravity higher than 7, say for example "Lose Weight"

2. What I'll then do is I'll use Googles keyword tool to find out how many searches that receives in a month.

3. Next, I use SEOQuake to see what sort of page rank the first 10 websites for "Lose Weight" have and get an average for it.

4. I'll do this with three other keywords that came up under "lose Weight" with Googles keyword tool and get an average for all three. Then I get an average of those averages and it should give you a good idea of what kind of competition you'll have and how easy it will be to rank for "Lose weight"

You can apply the same method for individual keywords for articles and such as well, but with a slight twist.

Ok, so the keyword I want to check out is "Weight Lost Diet" I see under Googles keyword tool that this receives 400,000 hits a month. Type that in in Google WITH quotation marks and see how many hits come up.

There's a little chart I use to determine how good a keyword will be and how easy it will be to rank for it. (Edit: Won't let me post a picture!!!!!!!)

Hope this makes sense. I suck at explaining things haha.

Double Edit: I tried to type out the chart but it deleted all my formatting, sorry.
