What do i need to check a proper expireddomain ?

as you guys know, im a junior member where it can be looked ( still learning ). i only use wayback machine to look at what he do in past. is there any tools for looking a best put out for expired domain ?
what should i look ? the traffic, authority, domain extension such as ( .com .org .net) what if the other domain extension like .me ?

Expired domains can be a great way to get a head start, but it’s important to choose wisely. Look for domains with strong backlinks, clean history, and a relevant niche to avoid penalties.

Some tools like Expireddomains.net or DomCop can help you find good expired domains. Make sure to check the domain’s metrics (like DA, PA, trust flow, etc.) before purchasing.

Also, be careful with penalized domains — a domain that was previously penalized can hurt your new website's performance.

Feel free to share what kind of niche you're interested in, and I can give more specific advice!

i’m planning to post a full guide soon on how to evaluate a domain’s history using wayback machine, but here’s a quick checklist:

1. domain age – from the first snapshot to the last. if it’s under two years, it’s probably junk.
2. history histogram – that bar graph with years on top. the more dense and consistent it is (no long gaps or weird spikes), the better.
3. minimal or no non-blue days (orange, red, etc). anything that’s not blue usually means non-200 server responses, which is a red flag. 403 errors are especially bad.

Check out SpamZilla and DomCop, they’ll save you mad time digging through junk.

Hello, still_learning

How to check expired domains? I think you can check from the following 3 points:

Nuclear-level tools: Ahrefs/SEMrush: Check DR/traffic (focus on the natural traffic curve, plummeting = being K); check historical content (is it a gambling/porn site? If you accept it, you will die!).

External link anatomy: Use Majestic to check "Trust Flow" > 30, and the junk external links exceed 50%? Throw it away quickly!

Suffix metaphysics: .com/.org is preferred, and non-mainstream suffixes such as .me/.xyz should not be touched unless the brand name matches perfectly!

Note: Don't just look at DR! Some DR40 are all junk external links, and they are bought to take over; Traffic is 0 but the external links are clean? It may be a treasure (the content is not well done).

Wayback machine is a great tool - so use it. Analyze history, check what it "was" and what "now" is captured. Check content - does it contains any spam or unwanted keywords\links. Additionally you can use tool @DomainArchiveChecker_bot on telegram. Pretty nice thing to find such spam.
I would say that DR is some kind of overrated ourdays. I mean it is manipulative and can be easily rised for some purposes. So check quality of ref domains.
Pay attention on domains\backlinks ratio
Check anchors
That is not all - for sure... but the more you in this - the more your expertise in this.

thanks for the advice my friend, sometimes im getting stuck hahahahah

yes my friend, how about tf and cf ? is that main thing too ?
3rd party stats are nice but aren't a good indicator of whether a domain is clean enough to base a decent website on. You should only really go by the history on the Wayback Machine and the backlinks profile.

You use the stats to get an idea of whether a domain is worth looking into, rather than whether it is worth buying. Always check content history and backlinks before buying.

about backlink, what we look for? do referring domain and backlink ratio takes part of good indicator of backlink ?

You need to check various aspects of an expired domain before deciding to buy it. It's good that you're using Wayback Machine to see its past activities. Besides that, you should also look at the domain's traffic, authority, and extension. Domain extensions like .com, .org, and .net are generally more popular and trustworthy. However, sometimes domains with extensions like .me can also be valuable depending on the niche. Just make sure to do thorough research before making a decision.

First you need to check the wayback machine and see if the site was spammed in the past. After that you have to check the backlink profile. It is always better if the backlinks pointing to the expired domain are in a relevant or a similar niche.
