How I think about SEO

This is not really a guide, just sharing about how I personally view SEO, not sure if it'll help you but hopefully it can give you a different perspective if you're having trouble understanding.

Again, just sharing my thoughts, no real credibility other than having been able to keep a job mainly in SEO for a few years.

I like to look at it like how human relationships, where each website is a person, and where Google is that guy that knows a guy.

How would Google rank 'you' then?

1. On-Page
How you look, first impressions, how easy you are to get along with and interact with.

2. Off-Page / Backlinking
Your authority, who endorses you / approves of you?

Would being endorsed by a well-known and well-liked person be better than being endorsed by 100 nobodies?

3. Technical
Your internal wiring, health, the under the skin factors.

You could be smart and well-dressed but take way too long to answer a simple question.

4. Content
The way you speak, do you use complicated language when you're speaking to toddlers? Or are you appropriate and match your target audience?

Do you even speak at all?

Also, just food for thought for those spend adverse, money can help you open doors and make connections you otherwise would not be able to (not quickly at least).

Probably are way more factors here, and you may not agree with my thoughts, which is fine, I'd love to hear your perspectives though.

Thanks! Yep was trying to keep it simple because I find that too many people are overthinking it. It's something you'll outgrow probably a week into SEO.

other than that, niche matters a lot, local, national, international, etc
