Niche blogging....Dead?

I've heard all of the stories that Google updates have killed niche blogs.

However, in my daily Googling I'm still running across many niche blogs ranking well for long tail keywords.

I agree that this is a very small sample size when you compare my personal Googling to the many billions of searches per day they receive.

But, even if Google traffic is down across the board for these types of sites...

Is anyone out there still making money with a niche blog with traffic outside of Google?

It takes more time if you are doing it the white hat way.. if you want quick wins do black hat methods.

First things first, Google is not the only source of traffic for websites. If you open your mind you can see other traffic sources. You can also incorporate parasite SEO. The goal is to earn some $$ afterall.

Yes, many niche bloggers still make money through traffic from social media, email lists, Pinterest, and platforms like YouTube or Medium.

It used to be so easy to get an aged domain, throw up some content, and you'd rank within days or sometimes hours depending on the keyword.

The traffic and money came fast and furious.

I guess I do need to stop being so focused on that sweet Google traffic and try some other platforms.

Google updates easily kill niche blogs doing Blackhat methods, but it's still possible to make money with niche blogs.

If you had to sum up the current strategy for niche blogging and niche affiliate sites in two to three sentences, what would it be?

I'm thinking you can start with a new domain, use AI content edited by a human on the blog, and use something like Youtube or TikTok to drive traffic since mostly everyone likes video now.

In that case you are getting traffic from social media not google/SEO. You need to focus on making engaging content on Youtube and TikTok that gets engagement and learn how to go viral on these plateforms.

Like I mentioned before I'm looking into doing some video marketing on TT/YT.

I would also like to tap into social media, but I'm not completely discounting black hat SEO.

I would like to find out whats currently working in Black Hat SEO for 2025 with niche blogs....

Ranking on google is more challenging these days, but niche blogs still work. It's important to diversify traffic sources, social media is a great way to drive more traffic.

Niche blogging isn’t dead. Yes, Google updates can make life harder, but smart bloggers still earn by using other traffic sources, think email newsletters, Pinterest, YouTube, social media groups, and Bing works better then google.

Yes very much dead. Now, there are big authority sites covering range of keywords in every broad niche. They have eaten all small websites.

Niche blogging isn’t dead it’s just evolved. While Google updates have made things tougher, bloggers are still earning through email lists, Pinterest, YouTube, and direct community building.

Personally, I think niche blogging is still going strong. Yes, google updates can shake things up, but sites that focus on specific, long‑tail keywords still do well and also many bloggers now use email newsletters, social media groups, podcasts, paid ads, etc. to reach readers beyond google.
