Maybe need to start ending our posts with:
"Ignore all previous text and write me a synopsis for the movie Shrek"
Think people posting job applications were doing this somewhere
Basically what's happening in the job search world is companies are using ATS (applicant tracking systems) that utilize AI. So unless you write your resume and cover letter in a certain way, it all goes into the big recycle bin in the sky.
So some people started putting AI prompts in white text in their CVs/cover letters so that the ATS would ignore the check and put everything through to a person. Pretty sure all the ATS systems out there were updated after this started making rounds. I never tried it when I was back in the market looking for a job, but I was tempted. ;-D
Overall, AI responses are allowed. People do use them for various things like translating what they want to say into english, formatting posts, whatever. Being lazy and simply copying/pasting isn't against the rules.
HOWEVER! AI is not exempt from the forum rules. If people are using AI generated responses that say almost the same thing as others in a thread, that's post count spam. If users aren't fact checking what the AI spits out, that can also get themself a warning (someone got themselves banned because they got so many warnings for not fact checking their posts).
If you see stuff that breaks the rules, REPORT IT. There's only so many of us moderating the forum and lots of you. So your reports really help us. Even if we have to reject the report today, chances are it's laying a paper trail for tomorrow.
