The 'new' followers or viewers that might come through the promotion won't interact with your content afterwards either, as you've somehow 'bought' your way onto their for you page and not because they are 100% interested in your content. In my opinion, the promote option is more for companies than creators, even if it is accessible for both. The best way is to get views organically and build a community. If you have fewer views, then your content is probably bad.

The problem is usually the video content. If the content doesn't have high level of engagement, you should expect a drop in views especially when you stop promoting it.

I think this reason is also correct, dropping views makes you afraid and tend to pay money for tiktok to promote your videos again. So people often want to build an organic channel first, not run ads before the channel has a stable number of views. If you want to run ads, you should have a clear strategy. I think it's best to build a stable channel yourself, if you want to sell, start running ads targeting customers.
