[WARNING] NameSilo Suspended My Domains & Blocked Transfers – Avoid Them

Just wanted to share my experience with NameSilo so others don’t fall into the same trap.

I registered multiple domains with them, fully paid for 1 year, and out of nowhere, they suspended many of my domains without warning. No legit explanation, just vague accusations and zero evidence. They also blocked me from transferring out the remaining domains, despite me asking multiple times.

The worst part? They listed one of my suspended domains for sale at $10,000 – proof here:

I tried resolving it with their support—useless and unhelpful. They refunded a few cases after I opened PayPal disputes, but I had to escalate and even initiate chargebacks via Mastercard for the rest.

This isn’t just my case. I’ve seen others here and elsewhere reporting NameSilo’s sudden bans and shady behavior. If you're using them, transfer your domains out ASAP before you lose them too.

TL;DR:

• NameSilo suspended domains without cause
• Blocked transfers of paid domains
• Listed suspended domains for resale
• Forced to open PayPal disputes + chargebacks
• Stay away – plenty of better registrars out there

Just a heads-up for the BHW community—don't trust NameSilo with your assets.

If 3 days haven’t passed yet, hurry! Go to https://www.namesilo.com/account/orders, click on your order, and then click on 'Cancel'.

Once it's canceled, go and transfer your domain to another registrar.

Yes, they were good — I had been using them for 7 years without issues.

But recently, they started taking down websites just because competitors report them — no investigation, no warning, nothing.

Honestly, if you have a domain with them, send me the link, and I guarantee I can get it banned within 24 hours. That’s how easy they’ve made it.

OP, are you sure it’s not because of any official complaint like DMCA? Sorry that you had to go through this.

If I’m not mistaken, I had over 100 domains with them before the mass transfer I did recently, after they suspended a lot of my domains.

OP, are you sure it’s not because of any official complaint like DMCA? Sorry that you had to go through this.

DMCA is related to content and hosting — which I’m not using with them — not domain registration, unless the domain name itself is copyrighted. And if they didn’t want to do business with us, they could’ve simply asked us to transfer our domains away, like most reputable registrars do.

Instead, they chose to hold our domains hostage, and worse — they put one of them back on the market for $10,000. Ironically, I can now buy it, even though it was originally mine.

First time I`ve heard something like this on NameSilo. been a looooooong time customer of them even if I lately was cheating on them and moved my business to Cloudflare, think I have 2-3 domains left on NameSilo only nowadays.

True but not completely. If you’re on an offshore host and refuse to take down copyright infringing content, the next step the complainants take is to go to the registrars. If they’re like Godaddy, they’ll seize your domain.

Instead, they chose to hold our domains hostage, and worse — they put one of them back on the market for $10,000. Ironically, I can now buy it, even though it was originally mine.

Can’t we sue them?

InternetBS is a good choice. Been with them for a long time now, and never had any issues with them. Touchwood. Don’t wanna jinx it now.

I’m not even using offshore hosting, and my hosting provider has never had any issues with any of my websites. I don’t know if they’ve ever received any complaints, but if they did, they never notified me about it. It’s just NameSilo going on a crazy rant.

Can’t we sue them?

Haha I’m afraid I can’t prove in court that my losses were in the millions — because they weren’t! But seriously, they did cost me a few thousand, and handing that over to a lawyer to maybe get it back doesn’t sound like the smartest move.

Jokes aside, I know how frustrating this really is. Bach when I was doing black hat niches, Godaddy seized my domain as I ignored all the DMCA complaints.

The craziest part is I didn’t even get any DMCA complaints — that’s the real issue. They didn’t notify me about anything. I only found out because the tool I use to monitor my sites kept sending me emails saying 2 or 3 sites were down every now and then. That’s how I discovered the mess.

Mf now dared to contact me and say it wasn't them who listed the domain for sale, but GoDaddy.

I truly believe there's been some change in their administration or something similar.

I remember a few years ago when Payoneer got a new CEO — they suddenly started asking for unrealistic documents and mass banning people left and right.

I’m seeing the same pattern now with NameSilo, though I’m not sure if there’s been any change at their headquarters.

What’s funny is that Payoneer snapped out of it pretty quickly — after 7 or 8 months — because they were obviously losing money running their business like that. I’m sure NAMEDILDO will do the same. They’ll eventually realize, pull back their horses, and go back to being the good boys they’ve been all these years.

Of course, I didn’t trust them—they stole my domains and even listed one for sale at $10,000. So I told them to let me transfer first, then I’d cancel the disputes. They refused and said they’d only let me get my domains back if I canceled the disputes first. (See our conversation: https://ibb.co.com/QvkjKFDT)

And that’s exactly what I did—I closed all open disputes.

What did they do next?

Instead of letting me transfer my domains, they sent me an email demanding $265.14 in fake “penalties”, because of PayPal cases I already won. Proof: https://ibb.co.com/X1SrjNY

So not only did they steal my domains, now they’re trying to extort money from me after tricking me into closing disputes.

I’ve already contacted PayPal to reopen the cases. More updates soon.

This behavior is really fckn bad, I am gonna transfer out my few domains left there now, I kind of got pissed reading this, hope you get your money back.
