New York and issued pursuant to 18 U.S.C. 981 and 2323 by the United States

and thepiratecity.org is gone too.. think we might be seeing a lot of websites being shut down :(

Lets see, don't use a US registrar and US host. And its virtually impossible for anyone agency to take your site offline.

Are people really surprised these sites are being shut down due to the content they were serving? It was only a matter of time.

No I think most people were surprised that people were using US based advertising companies, US servers and US hosts to further these illegal acts.

In the US at least you have contributory copyright infrigement and even if you say "oh but... I was only linking to the material, it wasn't on my site" you still are at fault because you contributed toward the ability for the infrigement to occur. It's no surprise that a website full of movies, where the owners are getting paid from US ad companies, could be taken down at any time.

But its more like that kids arcade game 'wack a mole', where the US government tipped their hat. Took out a couple websites, sent a message. So what's going to occur next. Is the larger players are going to make sure they have an international registrar with laws that are in their favor. A non US dns or series of dns servers, and international hosts.

LOL.... the sites are already back! with a new domain.. I don't they could ever stop this.

movies-links.tv is now watch-movies-tv.info
tvshack.net is now tvshack.cc

And lets see, the registrar is drumroll please... Network Solutions.

So instead of going with an actual registrar in china, they used a rebiller basically. I figure Mr. Fed will go back to the judge and get another warrent signed off for control of this one as well.

what if we run a movie site living outside U.S ? how will they take us to the american courts ? LOL

Same question here?? How they can our websites down if we use offshore hosting and registar ( let's say Iran for hosting and china for registering the domain)???

I have a good friend working with this niche who i think its using hosting and registration from US but he`s from a different country? ( inside europe ).
What can i tell him about this ? He`s also quite old and he`s doing this as a hobby... so there is a high % rate that he will quit if he finds out that he can get jailed.

wth????

how did you get to know their new domain??
jeez,,, they are truly unstoppable lol

What you guys are witnessing is the changes the affiliate marketing industry is going through.

No more credit reports, rebills, now incentivizing movie sites.

Makes you wonder if maybe the CPA companies knew about this with all of the banning of TV sites and such................... Just saying!

I was wondering, if it would matter if I move my current domain to an offshore domain registrar ?

I think hosting mostly matters for the small guys seeing as no one is going to get a warrant unless you get big - unless you're big :prof01:
