Already shifted everything on TG. But proceed with caution on groups and channels, telegram is banning everything they things not right. I got friends whose channels banned recently.

Teams will work and Microsoft will make the transition pretty smooth. They have posted a video on Youtube how it will work...

Yes. chats and file sharing will work on teams free version.

The best option after skype is telegram, skype was not used much anyway.
