No, default sort is top that what matters. Few clicks on latest too.

What you need to know? Latest comment can be ranked 1st if comment receive enough likes and/or replies.

Most of the time, only 7-8 likes is enough to rank it. Depends of video audience in comments + time/competition/deletion.

You just need to test a little and see from another location VPS/VPN if your comment is ranked when you check video naturally.

For viewers, the first comment that appears is the most important, not necessarily the oldest or most recent. You can set it up so that your favorite comment appears first.
