How to avoid being scammed by imposters when transacting on blackhatworld

I have seen a lot of people getting scammed by imposters over the years and it always happens the same way - people somehow end up communicating on an external communication platform such as telegram or skype and whilst they assume they are dealing with a specific seller from blackhatworld, it often turns out they are in fact dealing with an imposter.

This can happen for a variety of reasons but typically it happens when the buyer either searches for the user manually on the external platform (and inadvertently adds the wrong contact) or someone proporting to be the seller gets in touch with the buyer directly via the external platform.

Because of this easy confusion, it has become very common for scammers to take advantage and I even had it myself recently - when I posted a thread in the hire a freelancer sub-forum I suddenly get a message on Telegram from a suposed member of blackhatworld but in fact when I pressed them for details of their account, they did not even have one.

So how can you avoid these imposter scams?

Well its very easy and something I do whenever I transact on blackhatworld:

1. Preferably you should communicate directly on blackhatworld with the seller via direct message (https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/how-to-send-direct-message.1666148/)
2. Sometimes its better to have a real time conversation on a platform such as Telegram. If you feel this is more suitable then do the following -
   1. Make contact via Telegram (Ideally by clicking on an actual link from the seller and on blackhatworld).
   2. When you have added the seller on Telegram (Or similar platform) ask them to send you a direct message on blackhatworld to verify its actually them.
   3. Reply to that direct message yourself as well; that way you also give the other party the same peace of mind.

Of course that doesn't give you immunity from any type of scam, or from a business transaction going sour, but it does protect you against imposter scams and its something I do all the time. It also gives you at least some auditable log of the transaction starting on blackhatworld (A requirement if you had to open a dispute resolution thread for the transaction).

1, observe the other TG's personal photo history, whether it is often changed, or whether the picture is clear.

2, check the other TG account ID, such as “adelinaaaa”\“davidssss”\“roiboxxxx”.

Digit repeatability of such is likely to be a copycat

If dealing with a seller on BHW externally, first request the seller to provide the Telegram, Skype, etc link on BHW and then proceed. Newbies must first read all the Newbies related guides that BHW has.

Yes this is happens with sellers that scammers create account with name of seller and try to sell.

The only time I was scammed on the forum is when the seller did a fake code confirmation. He got the seller he was impersonating to send me a code on BHW, and he(scammer) asked for the code on skype to verify. I was distracted, and did. It was only after making payment that I realized and remembered that he should have been the one to confirm the code he purportedly sent to me. Lost $160 to the scumbag.

Ever since, I now concentrate whenever I'm making payments or trying to have a transaction.

I refused to sell to low post bhw members which
is where most scams happen on bhw.

Most of all having been online since 1998
I have a nose for sniffing out a scammer.
If it stinks - i tell em to sod off .

I've seen savvy folks doing this for a while now, they confirm everything on the forum via DMs. Some even asked me if I could vouch for the person whose service is in my signature. You can never be too cautious. A word of advice: if someone’s pushing you to send payments quickly, tread carefully! Genuine sellers here on the forum don’t operate that way.
