There is no way to say that the seller is going to not take advantage of you but you can protect yourself via an escrow service like Escrow.com.

I'd be doing some mega due diligence.
Checking if the sellers ever been shitlisted on here and check his reviews.
Google his username and see if he's scammed anyone anywhere else as well.
Keep dms on bhw for extra dispute protection.

I would be very carefully. Due your due diligence:
- Did he has good reviews?
- Can you ask to get some referalls with past clients from BHW (check their background too)
- Can you pay him in smaller rates?
- Can you use Escrow payment?
As you know, crypto payments are very risky.
Use common sense. Just because someone has JrVIP/Marketplace Seller tag that doesn't mean the deal it's bullet proof

Make sure you do your due diligence and read the seller's reviews, etc., before making a purchase. This practice will help minimize your chances of getting scammed.

I would say better to use PayPal instead of USDT. And check all the parameters before making any payment.

If, for whatever insane reason you decide not to use escrow (you really, really should use escrow) this is one where you should pay in milestones. Some up front, some in the middle of the project, the rest at the end.
And for the love of all, please make sure you're talking to him about it in DMs BEFORE you move off site. If it goes wrong, this will allow you to create a dispute. Along with screen shotting all of the communication religiously so when it's all deleted by the other guy, you have proof it existed.

If you don't trust him/her or know personally, I would proceed with an escrow. It's the only way to "be sure".
