I expect to have the new scraper for SFW content ready today
Both for images & videos.
I found that the API let you fetch 50K items.
The page is updated quite often a few times every hour or like every hour.
People are constantly pushing content to it.

Sounds great! 50k items is a solid amount. If updates happen several times an hour, the scraper should handle it without any issues.

Hi Everyone,

I've used Tumblr in the past, to spam affiliate links. Using 20 to 30 accounts simultaneously. With my own, custom coded bots. Making ~$10 a day.
It was highly frustrating. And hard to maintain. Keeping it up. Required me so much effort. And then see you're affected by the banwaves of Tumblr where all your accounts are automatically, and mercilessly BANNED. Gone for good.
So I ended quitting when, after a few tries, I saw I was not driving traffic anymore. Things changed.

This summarizes it all, quite well, my past experience with Tumblr, I think.

But I think I recently learned something important about being undetected as bot.
So I wanted to put it to test. And I Know Tumblr pretty well. It's like my Playground. Thus, I'm creating a new bot.

The Poster, Follower, and Liker are done.
The Commenter and reblogger are 0% done.

ATM I'm using a single account.

For me, one of the most frustrating things of starting a Tumblr account is seeing your "Activity" graph, plain, saying that there's no activity at all.
Fortunately, I got my first follower today.

So I'm not completely invisible. That's a good sign.

I registered the account just a few days ago. An I know it takes Tumblr some time to give you visibility.

Tumblr has some limits.
- 250 Original Posts a day that resets at 00:00 ET / 6:00AM CET IIRC
- 2000 Likes a day In theory, though I got limited on after 1000. So I'll assume it's 1000 for me.
- 200 Follows a day, with a hard cap of 5000.

I'm posting NSFW, with some tags, and without links by now.
I have scraped ~50.000 images that I'm randomly posting.
Those images are not explicitly pornographic. Boobs / Butt seems ok... but not pussies / not dicks (or your posts will be flagged).

For monetizing... I think I could link to an static page on cloudflare with display ads as publisher (RPM) and pub subs or I could use smartlinks from idk trafficcompany, los pollos etc...

But ATM I just want to keep posting, following, liking. At some point coding the commenter and reblogger. And see how tumblr behaves. What's the response in terms of visibility of my account, If I get followers / likes / comments ( notes )

I'm gonna try the scraper to scrape 50 pages concurrently, let's hope I don't get rate limited

I also been thinking to setup push subs with propushme...
But last time I used those was like in 2021... I could change them

It's a good network. I have read some good reviews about Monetag. Please, keep us updated.

I think that my new scraper for SFW is done.
They banned my IP from doing requests to the site haha...
But I think I found how often the requests can be done (on a single IP)
It's then quite slow... But I can resume from where it left off...
So.... unless there are errors that arise after running for long time... it's done.

Since it only does HTTP Rrequests it's resources usage is +1% CPU +3% memory...

LoL the scraper been working the whole night...

Hmmm I'm getting like a REQUEST TIMEOUT every 2000 - 3000 requests...
Maybe is something I can tweak... but I think it's acceptable... Since the scraper continues with the next one after the error.
Or I could force it to retry with some delay after an error...



Wait something is weird..... Why it says 11K and then 23,5K posts were scraped... What I have done here ?
I wasn't really inspired when I coded this....

The correct number is the 11K one...
I messed the other one when I changed from going parallel to sequential.... after seing it was too much... I have left the old count in the code...
I will just get rid of it... and leave only the count of every +1 post.

Again, a few changes and lower posting activity... But it's what it takes... It's time to adapt the code and grab enough of the new content...

I'm being able to scrape both images / videos in parallel, running the script twice with different config.

I'm thinking... that these new videos would be PURRFECT to create a Youtube Shorts / tik tok channel... (I know I can automate youtube... I did it in the past)

I'm seeing that Datify let me create multiple smartlinks with custom names




Every smartlink have their own ID, and URL

This should help me segment the traffic by site.... If I try other sites than Tumblr, that Is something that I plan to do.

Do you guys see this ????? This is the URL SHORTENER that I've been using all the time...

They're using a fucking preview page for the link.... full of adsense btw... that have you waiting for ~10 seconds before you can click a button to go to the page...

I used this shortener before I decided to use it for my scripts.... And there were no bridge/preview pages... The redirection went straight to the "long" URL... So I thought it was OK to use it...
Seems that after a few days/visits they switch to a preview page... or smh....
Too bad that I didn't took a look to the link before...

I'm obviosly going to change the way I redirect to my affiliate link

I'll try to use the Open Redirect technique (just because I find it funny) I think I know some URLs for this.

Must say op that you seem to be having a great time with this journey. Like really enjoying it even with the bans and low conv. Its nice to see you bounce back and tackle each setback. Hope you eventually conquer Tumblr.
