How can I see in Google Analytics (GA) how many times my website was displayed and how much traffic it generated through results from Google Search Generative Experience (SGE)?

  • In GA4, navigate to Explore and create a new exploration.
  • Use Session Source/Medium as a dimension and filter for "google / organic" to isolate traffic from Google Search.
  • Add metrics like Impressions and Clicks to analyze traffic volume.
  • While GA4 doesn’t explicitly label SGE traffic, monitor changes in behavior such as increased dwell time or unique queries.
  • Combine this with data from Google Search Console to track impressions and clicks, which may hint at SGE-specific activity.

In GA4 go to :
  • Report --> Demographic details --> Filter --> copy this information :

  • You can connect GA4 with you GSC ( google search console )

Google Analytics doesn’t yet distinguish traffic from Google Search Generative Experience (SGE). Use Google Search Console to track impressions and clicks, and monitor organic search traffic in GA for overall insights while staying updated for future SGE-specific tracking options.

GA tracks clicks to your site, not how many times it was shown in search. Google hasn't released a way to specifically see SGE data in GA yet. Any traffic from SGE would just look like regular organic visits. You'll have to wait for Google to make that kind of breakdown available, if they ever do.
