Trying Tumblr Again...

So the person that contacted me through Tumblr chat offering me a job....
Wanted me to create a listing in facebook marketplace. And I did it. Don't judge me.

My understanding is "they" want leads (phone numbers)

The description of the listing is:
"Interested in renting the house.Kindly drop your phone number on messenger to get in touch with the landlord on phone....*Rent to own propertyOption, But the rent to own property is after 12months!"

I do not expect to be paid for this of course. I'm not that naive. But I found it interesting, since I never used facebook marketplace and doing this taught me a way of getting leads.

This was completely unexpected.
And I created a JS project to automate it.

But I'll keep this thread about Tumblr after this... Don't want to derail my own thread lol.

Three different things you ask:
- I'm using the Adult Smartlink from Datify.link (the first day I tried the Traffic Company Adult Smartlink but one offer from appoachX was not loading so I changed it)
- How do I got in contact with a seller ? Do you mean the person that send me a message through Tumblr chat ? IF SO, dunno. "She" just sent me a message.
- Sure, I can do the same with X. But every platform is different and they have different antibot systems and requirements ( proxies / sms pva / etc ). But most probable is that I would be banned on every one of them. Including Tumblr, kek.

My Account Scraper is working quite well for a single tag.

Now I want it to scrape multiple tags in parallel

Problem Is... I guess I'll hit rate limits.

So I'm gonna make it waits for 30 seconds initially, and then every process start at a random time of sleeping between 1 and n additional seconds. And increasing my timeout times.

And I still think it wont be enough. I calculate I will have 141 concurrent processes in my test.

I'm scraping a few hundred unique blog names every second

I've found a problem and atm I'm running like ~40 parallel processes. Not 141 as I said before.

But I think it'll be enough.

And I can Scrape many more.

18/01 Datify.link adult smartlink

I have created a new version for my liker script that doesn't scrape and only like posts from blogs in database. Performance is still low.... ( too much DOM to load for every like... ) So I'll try a new approach.

Could you further describe what would you do with medium or linkedin ? Here or by DM...

Well if you use articles i will use also linkedin ,medium pinterest etc .In this game you should never depend on just a single traffic source

Lil update:
19/1 I haven't posted, liked, commented or followed anyone yet, so the traffic is even lower...


Basically, a single user, prolly a bot, liked many of my posts... This happens from time to time.



I said I'm trying a new approach for my liker script. So I'm writing a third version of my script.
By now... I have confirmed, that I can perform the Like with this new approach.



Now I just need to complete the script logic, debug it, and assest if its faster / lighter on resources (it should)...

After that I wanna do some things.
- Randomize the URLs in the posts. Creating like a pool of a few hundred URLs. That's easy...
- Scrape new / better content. I think the "quality" of the content directly affects the engaging in tumblr (the amount of notes u receive (Likes / Replies / Reblogs)). If the content feels vague, copied or so... It's going to perform worse.
- I need to revisit my old account creator. And judge the approach I took back then for that. And decide If I go for another strategy. I want to start with the fun part of this. That is creating multiple accounts, and spam tumblr like a b!tch. Pffff but I'll still need to adapt my scripts to use multiple accounts instead of just one...

So all this will take.... some time.

Thanks Charles for your insight. I agree with what you say.

I will probably try Pinterest / Reddit & Medium. At some point.

But at least for now I'm all in with the Churn & Burn, no proxies, creating and discarding accounts in Tumblr. I first want to see how tumblr behaves in 2025. If what I've learnt makes any difference. Most probable Is I'm gonna get hit by the ban waves again and I'm Ok with playing that game (well, depends).

iirc (this was a few years ago) I managed to have between 600 to 1000 daily visits.

Lil update:
- I have been writing the account creator script. It still needs more debugging. Right now it is semi-automatic (due to captcha) that let me create accounts. It's useful to automate the account data generation, fill in the forms for me, verify the accounts, so I don't even have to think.
- I could but I don't want to implement an anti-captcha, not yet at least. Basically I don't need that. I think I would only need that for scaling, with proxies, multiple browser profiles, and a hundred or thousand of accounts and above. And it's not the case. I know I said I used to use 20-30 accounts before, I remember sometimes using more than 100 though, but the banwaves relentlessly destroyed my accounts (always in one stroke). And it became unsustainable pretty fast.
- I have created 10 accounts while doing trial and error. (I will create more)
- I haven't used them for anything yet.
- I need to adapt the other scripts for multiple accounts.
- I will stop using HTTP Requests and use Playwright only. I'm gonna give less importance to the liker. Making it simpler / dumb. And focus more on to the Poster script. Since I'm gonna go Rogue, I think account building is less important (they're going to be banned in a few days). So likes and follows... Meh....

There's not a silver bullet it seems. Therefore. I'm all in for the Churn & Burn ( Create accounts >> Spam Hard >> BanWave >> Rinse & Repeat ) I will simply delete the banned accounts from DB and start over.
