Cloudflare's 2nd greatest gift to humanity - WARP

Can you select specific country for the proxy?

Thank you very much for sharing, it seems very useful, but it also seems to be only available to those who have certain knowledge. In my case, I think I will try to find someone who can do it for me.

Did you do this on purpose? It looks like a secret spy message LOL ;):p

weird. i guess i was expecting to see more action here.

anyway, this is not worth a full tutorial.. sorry... here are the basics..

ubuntu 20.04
install WARP, do not activate or connect to network yet https://one.one.one.one/
install DANTE, just install it, do not do AUTH https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-set-up-dante-proxy-on-ubuntu-20-04

first with WARP, whatever it does, i think routes DNS via their network or something, so basically you need to allow yourself IN and the other server(s) that will use the proxy by running following commands after installing WARP (creates tunnel and adjusts the firewall), otherwise you'll be locked out:

Code:
warp-cli tunnel ip add MY.IP
warp-cli tunnel ip add MY.OTHER.SERVER.IP

and after that, run these 3

Code:
warp-cli registration new
warp-cli mode warp
warp-cli connect

note that now you won't even be able to install anything new, or at least I wasnt, until disconnecting WARP from network, or maybe changing its mode somehow.. dunno..
check your networks by running "ip a" command, you will see now that there's a newcomer there - CloudflareWARP section..

so now i do not bother with PROXY AUTH part, just do the IP based stuff, so I add this to config (/etc/danted.conf) for each of the servers that will use proxy:

Code:
client pass {
        from: MY.IP/32 to: 0.0.0.0/0
}
client pass {
        from: MY.OTHER.SERVER.IP/32 to: 0.0.0.0/0
}

then I also edit this very important part of the config

Code:
internal: NORMALNETWORK port = THE_PORT_NUM
external: CloudflareWARP

pardon the "normal network" thing, it's the usual ETH0 or ENS3 or whatever.. you know what i mean.. it's also in "ip a" command's output.

anyway now restart danted service and just like that, you're ready! you can now use this as SOCKS://VPS.IP.AD.DR:THE_PORT_NUM, just don't forget to run "ufw allow THE_PORT_NUM" command on your VPS first..

so far i am comfortable with IPV4 but not able to access proxy via IPV6 that's assigned to it, not really familiar with IPV6 in general, but DANTE and WARP both work with IPV6 no problems, so if you know what to do, how to address the proxy via IPV6, - please, lemme know.. ufw allow command sets rules both for IPV4 and IPV6, so i think no extra setup is needed, given your VPS has both types of IPs assigned to it.. And technically when if IPV6 is available, WARP should prefer it, but it's all still unclear to me..

PS it's a tut after all..
Pls give a step by step instruction on how to use/install it

i was actually able to connect to VPS via its assigned ipv6 and connect to outside world thru that, BUT this doesn't necessarily force ipv6 as the transport.. i guess its up to the endpoint..

JFYI after long meddling i was finally able to force IPv6 communications. I admit, IPv4 addresses don't really change much on their own, and 2 VPSes from same DC will most likely get same IP in WARP, but here is your part - you gotta find new VPSes bring business to random mom & pop hosting to get different "sources".. but with IPv6 it's literally new IP on every communication, all those teraflops of them sixes are just waiting to be used...

basically i ended up adding source IPv6 addresses to WARP tunnel and then adding them into the DANTE config, same as IPv4, just with a difference ::/0 instead of 0.0.0.0/0 and bottom part where 0.0.0.0/0 to:0.0.0.0/0 instead of adding same for ipv6, i edited these to 0/0 to: 0/0 to include both ipv4 and v6. apparently DANTE enables both 4&6 by default, just gotta add/change rules.

TBH, I AM SIMPLY EXTATIC... for not i am just going to rent a bunch of VPSes and set up my proxies, and keep my current proxy provider, but with time - drop that zero cause i found myself a hero - WARP! =)

i did a fast test on VPS a had, for IPV4 and it worked for me when tested on Firefox as socks proxy.
no testing for IPV6 yet.
but thanks for your sharing.

Warp is great along with Proton VPN, two well known and widely used services.
For many years I've been using a mobile router with an iPhone 13 and one of those unlimited burner phone lines (Tracfone types like StraightTalk, etc).
By simply toggling airplane mode on the phone (no need to restart the router) it changes the IP every time within 10 seconds. You could use a proxy or VPN on top of that, but not really necessary. ;)

yeah i considered such, even thought of a simple usage of my TMobile 5G router, it's basically a phone line with unlimited data @ 5G speeds .. buy (monthly rent) a few of those, and you got yourself a whole lot of mobile proxies to use.. but it requires a lot of RL stuff, like routers, wires, switchboards, etc.. this here is all virtual, and it;s backed by Cloudflare...

plus when your business needs lots of proxies, it is hard to maintain everything over hard mobile lines.. doing your thing at home via a mobile or whatever router and being safe is one thing. needing loads of bandwidth and constant IP changes - is another...

First of all, TY for sharing this.

I got this working on a digital ocean droplet, but I had a fixed IP with low reputation. I was able to hit an IP API endpoint to see that I did infact have a new IP, however hitting some big name sites always returned a captcha requesting response.

How often is your warp IP changing? Every request? Or based on destination server location?

Are you able to get full responses from cloudflare protected sites like you would from residential?

Changing IP is very important, I have tried many ways, unless I replace something, there is no improvement.

Note: It is best to use a new cloudflare account

Cloudflare updated its user agreement on December 3, 2024. In this update, Cloudflare clearly stated that its services cannot be used as a proxy, otherwise it will be considered a violation of the terms of service and the account will be blocked.

this got me curious, and i cannot really find what you mentioning.. is this the part? "restrictions... (j) use the Services to provide a virtual private network or other similar proxy services." this part feels like they saying don't be selling VPN or proxies based on our services, am i wrong? otherwise i am not seeing something, i gues..

thanks for great share.
how much will it cost?

Your setup using Cloudflare WARP for residential proxies sounds impressive! Here’s a quick summary of your approach for others to benefit:
  1. WARP + VPS: Use WARP to mask your VPS IP, creating a rotating pool of residential IPs.
  2. Tools Needed: Install warp-cli and dante-server (SOCKS) on the VPS.
  3. Geo-Targeting: Deploy proxies in desired locations in 15-20 minutes (5-10 for experts).
  4. Bandwidth: Virtually unlimited with access to a large IP pool.
For those interested, a step-by-step guide for Ubuntu would be fantastic! Thanks for sharing this unique solution—it’s a game-changer for many.

lol, way to use summarization AI skillz..

is really a big deal and I believe that lately more people will be using it more and more, btw thank you for sharing the linux step by step, I being moving from windows to linux slowly but linux showed to be a real pain.

I know some people created residential VPN with something like this. Not sure how, need wireguard.
