Well this is a clear rant so please be patient or do skip. Okay let's go.
I have been using BHW for just over a few weeks and in first it was going well. But then, I am totally frustrated after what happened today.
Firstly, due to some of the Indian, pakistani and Bangladeshi or Nigerian scammers people here tend to act like a strange bug even if you give them contract and try to work like a normal human being. (Oh yea? Its BHW for a reason, so am being a jerk?)
Ok screw that. Next comes contacting them. Ohhhhh boy!
If you oblige by all details and try to reach them, they will actually 'ghost' you and they dont have the bare minimum senses to even let you know they found someone
If that doesn't sound like a pain, then here's the next one that just made me go, nuts.
I was hired after discussions of atleast 24 hours as SEO for their newly launched product. I charged them 500$ for retainer and content separately. (Ok! *breathes in heavily*)
Now from the very fckn first day I told him to give me the content budget so we can start writing after keyword strategy as it will take time and he is like 'ohh no please first finish designing website and then we will talk' ffs doesn't he understand retainer? I even reduced content charges to 15$ per 1000 words for human edited ai content.
Next now after a month, when I said ' you dont have to pay me full 500$ just pay me 100$ more as you've already paid me 150$ in advance' and he is like- dude just bill me for whatever I ask you to do- link building, etc. Etc.
So how tf am I an SEO here? And why would I be held accountable for results cuz I am gonna be a fckn intern.
I asked the same politely. My exact words were:
'No we didnt talk this if you're going to change your words I am sorry either we have to sign agreement or stick to my words.
We are charging you 500$ retainer and its not as and when you ask me to do. Because after this you'll ask me 'where are the results' let me tell you I WONT GUARANTEE results like this. If you're working with us, its a retainer contract that you'll have to pay monthly like a saas, whether you use or not. If not we will stick to what you say, we will charge only for things we deliver but you can't hold us accountable for any results. If that works fine. I am not going to work like a scammer nor a Black Hat expert but a professional himself

Any such experiences guys or am I the only 'fool'?
