Is backlink from websites which traffic is 0 helpful for ranking?

I used ahrefs to get some high related backlinks for my industry. Recently I just noticed that some high related backlinks with DA >30 HAS NO TRAFFIC，which had large traffic several months ago but now had no traffic.
I assumed these websites are affected by the recent google updates.
my question is is it still very useful to get these high DA backlinks but traffic very low.

But if the authority continues to be good you can still benefit from it as some of that authority will still trickled down into your site, so I'd say it's still worth getting links from this site if the price is right

again, if you're only interested in the authority (link juice, ranking power, whatever you want to call it, they're all the same thing) you can still benefit from that authority despite of the rankings tanking....

But beware that - sometimes - dead / dying sites lose backlinks too, and - as a result of this - their authority dies too, so even if this week / month the authority is good doesn't mean that it will be good next month or next year too. You gotta keep an eye on these things and monitor them weekly, maybe use a tool like Scrapebox to automate the verification of backlinks on a daily / weekly basis and send you report when something happens to these links

You have no control over which sites can get penalized by google so it's ok to have links from sites with no traffic.
My opinion: I prefer links from websites with organic traffic (but if those sites lose traffic... oh well).

I agree with uh, however dont you think that people can manipulate and use of gray/black hat SEO to boost DA? with little to no traffic? how can we spot those?
